  1. Based on the MTA's Earth Day announcement it pretty much is unless the MTA wants to make themselves look like liars. In addition, based on the other documents released by the MTA, it states that the XE40s will be used at depots with electric equipment. They mentioned 6 depots that will have electric equipment installed with Jamaica being one of them.
  2. Jamaica looks to be staying mixed fleet since they are on the list to get XE40s. If the DOB didn't want JA to have any more xcelsiors, they wouldn't have put JA on the list.
  3. I would disagree with the second to last statement. Those LFS Jamaica got were not in the greatest condition.
  4. JA has 198 buses. 7507 and 7548 are being rebuilt off-property and most likely going to Gun Hill afterward. 7835 might also be moved to Flatbush which brings it down to 197 buses.
  5. I find it odd they are still transferring JA units. Currently, JA has 198 and potentially 197 buses. They need 196 for regular service. This leaves them with 1 spare which isn't really a good idea.
  6. 7758-7765 JA to FP JA is down to 25 XD40s and will most likely retain these units for a while.
  7. For the new 60 electric busses, it is split into 2 contracts. 45 Electric busses and 15 all-electric busses. What is the difference between these 2?
  8. Summer of Hell. That was the summer when Amtrak was doing repair works on the East River Tunnels. LIRR scheduled some Great Neck trains to and from Hunterspoint Avenue during that time.
  9. There was no West Hempstead train out of HPA. West Hempstead used to have one train to and from Penn pre-covid. The only time where there were regularly scheduled electrics at HPA was during the Summer of Hell in 2017 and randomly scheduled trains based on pick seasons during 2019.
  10. Not always. It depends on how far you are into your shift. If you're late into your first run and have a second run after, you won't be compensated.
  11. Maybe because its a commuter railroad and most people go to Manhattan??
  12. I don't know where you got that crews like to arrive late. Overtime is collected based on how many extra jobs you work. You won't get paid overtime for being late...
  13. The majority of complaints are coming from Atlantic Terminal. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone else is the same as you....
  14. GCT has 3 times more ridership than Atlantic Terminal and ridership is still increasing. Writing to elected officials won't do much when the majority of riders go to GCT/Penn.
  15. They will be installing third rail which means one track has to be shut down.
  16. Considering the fact that MUs are useless on LD trains id say yes that's it.
  17. Talk to any worker lmfao. EMUs are much more expensive to maintain than locomotives.
  18. MUs are more expensive to run and you can't run as much cars...
  19. Man, you don't even know how anything works here at LIRR...
  20. I know multiple conductors and they have no problem collecting tickets.
  21. Who said that? Do you understand how they collect tickets during rush hour?
