  1. I would love to work it out, but it’s way too far away from my house, Every time I pick up family from that airport it’s a grueling task that takes up 4 hours out of my day. I don’t want to make that my everyday commute if I can help it. That’s 20 hours a week that can be spent sleeping, or doing overtime. All the other bus company depots are no more than 30 minutes from my house with traffic.
  2. When you finish your medical let me know if they threw you in JFK like they did for me. I had to re apply for the same title because from what I hear JFK and far Rockaway has a long wait list to be transferred out and by the time you get called to transfer to another depot, you’re already like 5 years in.
  3. Ok so yeah I took mabstoa and TA exam 3601 Thanks and wow at 60 miles you must be by Mohegan lake. Did JFK/ Far rockaway have tons of overtime or no? Did you like it over there? How long was line training?
  4. I’m happy I have the opportunity, and am super humbled and grateful for it, my only concern is I scored high on the exam and got an excellent list number and I’m one of the first people to get called, you would think that it would be appropriate to place someone from the Bronx in LGA or College point at least. I can already see why people are so quick to transfer.
  5. I see you were in bus company. How does it work transferring depots? I live far away from the JFK depot they put me in. I live in the Bronx so most times It’s gonna take over 1.5 hours sometimes with the traffic going and coming back each way.
  6. Do we really need the black or navy blue tie? I drove by bay plaza today I didn’t see any of the training B/O’s wearing it.
  7. I took 4104 and took the drug test exactly 1 month after the exam, Took medical exactly one week after. So I got my job offer 5 weeks after the exam. You shouldn’t put your exact list number for privacy reasons. As you can see I said my list number is under 10 and not the exact number. That’s why you see A lot of people put a star on the last digit or last two digits such as 11*
  8. I already had 2 people in Livingston try to Persuade me to not take the bus company position over mabstoa or TA, causing me to be in a weird position wondering if I’ll genuinely make a good choice by switching over or not.
  9. I look forward to seeing you. I have a question and I think you can help me the best. But I was given the instructions on the type of pants and shoes to buy for day one and the shoe is oil resistant and has other criteria. Can you give a couple of brand and models that I can purchase that I would be able to wear to the depot? I was at Livingston and forgot to ask the B/O supervisors that were already there in uniform.
  10. If that’s the case then that’s even better I'm assuming the people in 180 Livingston that processed the final onboarding paperwork for the candidates weren’t certain with that was going on as this is something they weren’t used to seeing at the time, and they didn’t want to get the candidate’s hopes up by telling the candidates otherwise. I’m really hoping that this is the case, and I’m wrong.
  11. Another word of advice that I haven’t seen anyone else talk about is you shouldn’t go into the medical appointment with sugary drinks in your system, because they’re going to take an A1C reading from your urine and it cannot be over a certain threshold. Some people drank a 32 oz bottle of orange juice with their breakfast, or had a donut while waiting to be seen by the doctor, and urinated straight sugar into the cup even though they didn’t have diabetes or anything really wrong with them. This caused at least 5 people to be put on medical hold. Luckily I inadvertently came in 20 hours fasted and didn’t have any sugar 48 hours before, up until that point and all I had was an unsweetened tea that morning, so My A1C was about 5. The Nurse instantly told me it was excellent reading after the test strip was taken away from the cup. also I wouldn’t recommend drinking coffee that morning, and keeping your mind away from anything stressful as it will speed your heart rate, and you’re gonna have your blood pressure and an EKG taken.
  12. I’m obese, but my neck was 15 inches and I didn’t have any symptoms that suggested I have apnea. Everything else went well.
  13. Once your assigned bus company I dont think mabstoa is going to call you and vice versa if I’m hearing correctly what the HR representative in 180 Livingston said to the people that were upset about the division they were put in.
  14. What I was trying to say is that I don’t think the candidates had a choice as in whoever calls first as it’s a final decision. I’m personally happy with being picked for Bus Company.
  15. I did medical and final processing today. There were a lot of upset candidates, because It looks like a lot of people that took the same exam for both divisions, mabstoa, and Bus company got called for bus company only Including me. I saw at least 3 people that were upset at the depot and division that they were sent to, And stated they wanted to work for mabstoa instead. The Only advice I can give is to just do the processing paperwork day one on the agency you would rather be in unless you don’t care which division you want to work for. Will save a lot of heartache.
  16. My list number is under 10 I’m sure they called a certain amount of people from each exam. Like 1-50 1-100 idk really
  17. I cleared medical. They assigned me to JFK I feel relieved. Very bittersweet.
  18. Hey guys, my neck is under 17 inches, but my BMI is at 38. Do they automatically make you take the sleep apnea with anything over 35 BMI? or is there still a chance I would be able to pass the medical without them putting me on hold to get a sleep study done?
  19. Thank you. I’m trying to gauge more or less how long it would take for a call after processing for the other divisions. I will check out that link since I hear it’s so easy to fail.
