  1. Don’t give up you’re so close to having the job. You are dealing with a government agency of course it’s gonna be a pain to have anything done but dude you’re like a hair away from having a solid 6 figure job with a retirement package. Rescheduling doesn’t
  2. I just noticed they never gave us the answer sheet to fill out like they did when I took 3601. I also heard that they used to give people random list numbers after the exam was over is that still the case?
  3. I don’t know how the process works. If I were in a situation like that I would go to the DMV and talk to them, ask what date the points on your license expire and if there are any ways to get the points taken off your record. I recommend taking the exam anyway and filing for the upcoming NYCT B/O exam.
  4. Depends on your list number and how many candidates that already got called from previous exams, but didn’t process immediately because they didn’t have their CDL yet, medical hold, military, etc. from what I see in the history it’s taking like 3 months from getting list numbers to getting called to classes assuming you’re healthy and have a clean driving, overall history.
  5. I’m sure enough people are applying. I even saw active bus drivers in uniform from Westchester County Bee Line, and Nassau County NICE inside the exam room taking the test with me. When I saw the NOE when first published, it stated that the application period is going to end around September 30th. IMO there might be too many people applying, and they’re probably going to have to weed out candidates.
  6. I took mine on the 19th you’ll get an email like 3 weeks before your exam. They’re going to keep giving exams every week until at least October. Make sure you’re there early, and have your CDL Permit with Airbrakes and passenger on you, a few people thought it was a joke and didn’t have it yet, and got sent back home. Out of the approx 35 people that showed up, 16 of us took the exam.
  7. Does anyone know roughly how many people wind up in each Bus Operator class, and are NYCT people mixed with MaBSTOA and MTA Bus Company in each class?
  8. Idk what to do guys. I just got my list number from sanitation exam last year list number 1,0xx and now idk what job to take if I’m called, so confused and don’t want to regret either decision.
  9. I took both exams today. Like 33% of the questions were the same questions I had from exam 3601 last year. All you really have to do is read each answer carefully and go back to the question. the only hard part is the memory portion and reason why is because after the memory portion they made everyone hand out booklets and fill more stuff out, so you’re not answering the questions from the memory portion until like 15 minutes after looking at the memorization picture book.
  10. I think you can file for both exams again since it’s still open. I swear I was so scared to apply that the day I decided to file, I took the ELDT and then took the passenger endorsement at the DMV directly afterwards.
  11. That’s the only thing that makes TA favorable because I’m filing for the Train Operator exam in November and I want the time to carry over if I get offered the position.
  12. I’m 25 lbs away from having the BMI requirements. If they call me for medical before I lose the weight can I come back at a different day? Or do I have to do the sleep apnea stuff afterwards regardless of what my weight is by the time I get a call back?
  13. I’m ready to do a backflip! I took 3601 and on the answer sheet it’s showing I only got 2 answers wrong out of 60 so It allegedly my assumption is that I scored about 95%+ on the exam. I’m also taking the MaBSTOA/MTA Bus exam in 5 days from now. As a person with infinite wisdom in this topic what would you recommend I do if i get picked by all 3 agencies around the same time?
  14. Is this your first time being called? Or did you ask to get your list number pushed back after nyct contacted you the first time?
  15. I have taken a ton of buses when I used to work in Manhattan and queens, it was almost always a night and day difference minus the M35. I'm aware I will be in the middle of terrible situations as a career bus operator, and I will deal with those situations in a professional manner, but if I even have a 10% chance of having less incidents throughout my 30 plus year career by avoiding a whole borough, I will avoid the whole borough and work elsewhere.
