  1. One place it will definately have to go to if that were happen is Jersey Gardens just outside Elizabeth and across the highway from EWR. Definately will affect what goes on at SI Mall.

     

    But major work would be needed to be done if the MTA one days wants to try something like your idea, is to put 3rd rail and also make repairs needed on the bridge if need so.

     

    Yeah believe me I know it's an outrageous idea but just a thought.

  2. Those are called Hi-railers. But, I've model railroaded before for many years, re-railers are usually hard. To be honest I've never seen a re-railer on a real life railroad. The material used in the picture I posted looks like a soft rubber or plastic material.

  3. I was at Staten Island at my cousins house who lives around the corner from the SIR. So I went on a photo tour of the SIR. I have not been on SIR property in a long time. The system does have a railroad feel to it. Enjoy!

  4. I took this shot from the Staten Island Railway, maybe other railroads use this, but what is this on the tracks?

     

    My only guess is this is where they clean/removed/change trucks on some of their railroad cars.
