  1. Who makes the camera you shoot transit with? Select your camera brand and then post what you got, a small wishlist and whatever you got on your mind.

Canon EOS 20D (up for sale soon)

    Canon EOS 40D

    My wishlist:

    Canon Powershot G9

    Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L

    Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L

  2. Ugh, those damn Gilligs. I like their BRT Advantages better.

    Very nice shots btw.

Ditto.... But yeah, the shots are great!

Thanks but, I like the Gillig buses. I was supposed to be relaxing but I couldn't resist in taking a few shots of transit.

Great shots, I like that new paint scheme.

    Nice pics!!

    Thanks guys!

  3. I went upstate to Saratoga Springs New York for the weekend with my lady on a mini vacation to get away from the city. It was really nice up there with tons of history. I managed to get some quick shots of their Capital District Transportation Authority buses. They were pretty clean and in great condition. Enjoy!

  4. I have Trainz 2004?, I used the standard 'North American' layout, and edited alot of it to create the Brighton Line 4 Track ROW. However, every time , I try and use my trainz sim game, the 'caching' takes forever, and by the time I actually get trains rolling on the lines ( 12 trains ) im about 35 minutes into the game already. Should i delete this series, and download a new one? I would love to operate the trains within the game, but its soo slowww.. Any help would be appreciated:D..

By the Way, I need to have these subway cars pictured in the previous posts. No Questions asked, lol. Outstanding Job!

It definitely sounds like you need a serious upgrade.

    Post your PC specs.

  5. Since "railroad" is one word, I say it should remain as SIR.

For that matter, Metro-North should be labeled MNR, and Long Island Railroad as LIR.

    The MTA spells them:

    Metro-North Railroad - MNR

Long Island Rail Road - LIRR

When I created the forum home icons I was thinking of spelling it Long Island Rail Road but decided to go with Railroad because it easier.

  6. It has the name "subway" because it was born underground in 1904. That's where the name came from and has stood as the name until now. The IRT subway was the first subway. By the time they unified the system the whole entire system became known as the subway.

    Makes perfect sense to me.

  7. Are all R44's FRA certified, or just the ones on SI? I would keep the R40 and R40 slants on the W to give some 68's to SIR. I'd even give the Franklin (S) 68's to SIR, and use 32's on the (S).

Just the R44's that run on the SIR were modified according to FRA standards to run on the SIR. The NYC Subway R44's are standard subway equipment.

  8. Nice bunch of maps, I have a few recent ones and some from the ealry 90's. I was always more into the rollsigns and other equipment. If any one has more rollsigns, please post some pictures of them!

What can I say I'm a map freak. I plan on getting some roll signs and other material when I get a chance.

Looking good buddy! Loving that top row :( lol

Thank you, it does looks good all bunched up like that.

  9. how would one submit a possible design concept? To NYCT or Kawasaki? I would think NYCT? does anyone know the exact answer?

I would guess Kawasaki creates a design and the MTA approves it.

Can we see some of your designs?
