  1. No wonder 5922 and 5925 went to Kingsbrige---ThermoKing issues.
  2. Vis a vis reliability, that shouldn't be too bad an issue; the Bx16 doesn't really have too many places where a driver could lose time, except in Fordham...and not every trip needs to run to Fordham; certain trips could run Norwood to Pelham only, or Norwood to Woodlawn only in the rush, and then deadheading back to Norwood. The current Bx16 route is 49 minutes at its worst; the extended route would still make it only about 55 minutes Norwood to Pelham and about 70 minutes in all over the full distance. Fewer buses would be needed.
  3. What should be considered instead are short-turns that do not run up Sedgwick and end at University and Kingsbridge (I don't see an earlier place south of there to turn buses around); buses would use the Bx32 relay. @Via Garibaldi 8 - a for eliminating the Bx34 and combining it with the Bx16 (whose resulting route would be still only 1 hour long), I admit that money is the motive there---because there, if it were up to me, the deadhead would be changed to being from the Pelham end instead of the Norwood or Fordham end that is currently used for Bx16 and Bx34 run-ons and run-offs; deadheads would be via the New England Thruway. (This differs from my prior proposal to reassign it to Kingsbridge.)
  4. I posted this in the Brooklyn thread, but it affects a Manhattan route: the M15 local---the short turns that do not go to the Ferry should be rerouted across the Williamsburg Bridge to provide better connections into Manhattan; there are currently no easy connections from Williamsburg to the East Side without using the L train, and this could relieve the L train (in addition to the relief that the M has brought),
  5. One change I would make---technically also a Manhattan change - is to divert the M15 local short turns that currently run to Pike and Division over the Williamsburg Bridge to the bridge plaza...to create an actually useful bridge route with connections deep into Manhattan on the East Side. It would also solve weekend ADA issues.
  6. One move that should be done - and would result in the elimination of the Bx34: Reroute the Bx16 to serve most of Woodlawn via Katonah Avenue and Van Cortlandt Park East...then send it down to Fordham; run-ons and run-offs can then occur from the Fordham end via either Fordham or Kingsbridge Roads to the Kingsbridge Depot. As for the Bx24---its stop at Westchester Square needs to be moved to where the Bx31 currently lays over; its stop is far out of the way at Westchester Square.
  7. Also remove 3741 from the roster; I cannot see this bus re-entering service after the rear tires caught fire while in tow on the LIE.
  8. Curious, where were you? Because I got a door side and a window side shot of it. They also have 552 and 555.
  9. Add 5875 to Tuskegee. And this bus already has a rear ad. (Some of the 5800s now have side ads.)
  10. That was done during the night. A separate shot of 1732 (not the one I used for my own gallery) is there now.
  11. I shot that in Lynbrook tonight. Also, add 1807 if it hasn't been added already.
  12. 100 Street got pushed back to 5864. 5855 is also at Quill.
  13. I was on that bus that day...it laid down at Caton Avenue after letting off a wheelchair.
  14. 504 is now at Spring Creek, working its last trip on run #1310 as I type.
  15. Not sure if it's been noted, but 8986, 9238, and 9240 are now at East NY---quickly becoming a dumping ground.
  16. Curious: are there any New Flyer artics in the 1xxx series remaining still?
  17. Curious: what was the final day of service for the 1860-2039 batch of MCIs? Read on TTMG that as of Tuesday, that entire batch has been withdrawn from service. (1894 survives as a training bus at Zerega.)
  18. Yes, 315---it was on Run 36 on the Q35 on Thursday; I was surprised at that sight too. Gleason was supposed to re-start at 320. Also, 5839 is now at Quill.
  19. 308 at West Farms, 5840 at Quill, 5817 at West Farms, and 315 at Gleason.
