Maybe his patience is done for and he's waitin for these new buses to come out. I agree with this though, cuz that's what life is. You gotta wait for new things. Most importantly, you gotta wait for the future. What are the fleet #s for these new buses anyway? Did NICE say any numbers yet or is it still TBD?

We Don't even know! Theres nowhere to put the charging stations yet! they aint ready. They either spoke ahead of themselves or something happened where the original plan is taking longer. Those buses was suppose to stored across the street with the charging station, but I haven't seen no production to even believe its coming soon!

Yep adding more short turns is exactly what I was thinking of. n54/55 runs a full seated load out of Hempstead and like @I Run Trains mentioned, once you get past that Walmart, Shoprite. As for the service to Sunrise, I agree we definitely need to preserve that, as coverage, though I believe the n19 has more potential in terms of ridership in that general area, but NICE completely destroyed the entire route with their cuts

I think the ridership traveling along Sunrise Highway, and to the Sunrise Mall is pretty much gone now. Not sure if that thing picks up more ridership now that it is going back to Amityville, but once you get past the Walmart in Uniondale, it usually doesn't pick up anyone, with small pockets of ridership here and there

one again.. im telling you off experience of being a bus operator working that line at least once a week, there are times where it can pick up! Thats a weird line.

there's definitely ridership on the Sunrise Highway side. But after that its lite until Jerusalem..

I work it on Saturday so its Lite but when Ive done it rush hour a few times it was enough ridership on it, but it coulda been that day. other than that, the 55/54 is a sweet run

Should've chosen a different thread title... Almost overlooked this.

    - To your first question, not that I know of, no.... All I heard about was that pilot route in Hempstead; the n75...

    - To your second question... Well I always thought there should've been something (at minimum) doing Hicksville - Syosset anyway; well before DYY9 opened up, not too far from S. Oyster Bay rd off the LIE...

    • If the n48/n49 would be chosen, I'd run it directly to the Amazon facility (providing a bus area/shelter be created for it, similar to that for Staten Island's S40)...
    • Since the n24's been broken up, running the eastern split of that route to Syosset (albeit to Downtown Syosset) would make that route more worthwhile in the network...
    • Something else I would consider though, is a new route running b/w Amityville & Syosset via [parts of the current n80] & [parts of the old N81] south of Hicksville...

I haven't heard anything about them servicing up there... the N48/49 would be a logical choice,

I nor none of the bus operators wouldn't want them to extend the N24 because even thou it is broken up on the weekday, The weekend it is not. Straight trips from Jamaica to Hicksville. They should just make. a whole new line.

To be honest the n75 looks like it is designed as a school tripper for Hempstead HS to reach other part of Mineola that just happen to fill some gap between the other n70s for those want to travel from RXR to Hempstead

On a unrelated note, I think they needed some sort of short turn n54/55 service. Most ridership got off going to Sunrise at or before Uniondale Avenue each time I took it.

    Thats Exactly what it is!

and the N54/55 don't need a shirt turn. a lot of the ridership goes to Walmart. then after Walmart there's people that get on further down the line to go to the malls on sunrise highway...... maybe thats how its flow the time im operating it

Hopefully they just go through with it. By that logic, there shouldn't be too many buses terminating in Jamaica or Flushing, despite those being major hubs. With Amityville being advertised as a timed transfer point, I think it would greatly increase ridership on the n71 and n80 if those were to be extended out there. (The n80 to the S2 would basically be a substitute for the minimal service on the Central Branch between Hicksville & Babylon, and the n71 to the S2, S4, or S10 would somewhat substitute for the loss of the old n72.

Ridership to Amityville is not Heavy. When I do the n55, Its only one stop from Sunrise to Amityville Station. Im normally carrying NOBODY there! maybe its because of the time I have the run, but I will say coming back I carry about 4/5 people tops.... SO I don't think ridership on the N71 or N80 would change drastically.

They will never stop buses from terminating in Jamaica or Flushing! Ridership is too heavy. Especially on the n6 and n4..

N71 is getting extended to Amityville as per SCT plan (presumably they discussed it with NICE). I believe the N54/55 already go to Amityville, so it's just the N80 that needs to get extended (S1, S2, S4, and S10 will terminate at Amityville from the SCT side)

Its Unconfirmed yet. I was just asking a supervisor about that. They may not want too many Nassau buses out there since the n54/55 goes to Amityville already.. that's what I was told thou!

This dude is like the bus grim reaper, another bus pine rides has an mechanical problem

Also around the 4 minute mark the B/O of the defective Orion says she doesn't like the Gilligs.. I wonder what's the most popular bus model for B/O's of NICE Bus? I've heard an NICE B/O say he doesn't like the Orions cause of the mirrors. Probably varies from op to op.

Also LOL at the mechanic telling the op to drive the bus anyway with the messed up suspension but she didn't want to  I wonder if such things happens at NYCT & MTA Bus? of course road calls happen with MTA buses I mean mechanics suggesting B/Os drive defective buses.

I Just wanna start off by saying that the guy shooting the video sounds like a complete idiot as he doesn't know how things operate. YOU CANT FORCE A DRIVER THATS FINISHED HIS RUN TO TRADE A BUS AND SIT WITH THE BROKEN BUS, NOR CAN YOU FORCE TO DO THAT RUN, ESPECIALLY IF HES ABOUT TO CLEAR. Secondly. Thats all the do is PAY OVER TIME

Speaking as a Nice bus operator now. I prefer the New Flyers. Mainly 1970-1999. The Orions are good if you get a good one, but as stated a lot of the mirror controls don't work so you have to move them manually and its. headache if you can get it right with all the back and forth... at first I didn't like the gilligs, but its not a bad bus... The problem is that Tall dudes that like to sit high up can't because the steering wheel doesn't adjust high enough, so you have to adjust the way you like to normally sit. But runs nice thou!

Normally, there's a spare bus kept at Hempstead, but I don't know what Time it was... My bus messed up a few times there , and I was told to take the spare bus so something happened that a spare wasn't there!.. But 1891&,1893 have died on me before so im not surprised 1895 died!

2087 entered service on the n4(will later go on the n40/41 and n4, run 0406)
2089 entered service on the n25(currently on the n58, will later go on the n25, n58 and n25, run 2504)
    2095 entered service on the n16(run 1603)

I just have one question! how do you know all this!? I work for the company and I don't be knowing this stuff as far as what's on what route!

Wait. So you went from A Division Train Operator to NICE Bus Operator? Is that allowed or does that infringe on the hours of service rule? Either way, rare to see someone go from MTA to another agency that isn't completely out of state.

You're asking too many questions. I was there, now im here..... With possibility of being back over there!
