I already asked this but will again, can anyone provide any information on how getting hired as a provisional employee effects getting the job for real? Am I putting myself at any risk of not getting the job permanently by doing it provisionally? Please and thank you.

Ive been in 3 years as a train operator... Everything is "temporary" until you get fully out of school car. You have to get 100 on both signal test and a 80 on the final exam. pass the practicals and make it thru the YX program. for me this took 8 months. Im In the A Division. its a lil longer for B division due to more trains to learn! Once you are on the road you still have another 4 months to complete you're probationary period. once you pass that, YOU ARE LOCKED IN!... hope that helps you a lil bit

You literally rephrased what I said. Let me be more specific: This plan is for ATS across the B-division, which will also be CBTC ready

You know what. When I’m wrong with m wrong and I’m not gonna argue like a certain somebody will.  You said “ This is ATS in the B division... It's just gonna be designed to be CBTC ready”  and I misread. Thought you said THERE IS!  . My bad!

Nah, that's still not right. If you want to piss off a rider who's annoying you, go drive a cab, not a train full of 2,000 people. I remember a time on the X17J, some people were asking politely for the B/O to turn up the heat (I didn't really care), and she ignores them, and then starts crawling down the NJ Turnpike, affecting every single person on the bus. One or two buses pass, alright fine, you're a cautious driver, but bus after bus kept passing us (including 3 other X17Js). I'm understanding of plenty of issues that are beyond the control of the B/O, but I'm not paying $6.50 to stand on a bus going 25 mph down an empty highway. Heck, if she wanted to be all "by the book" like that, she shouldn't have accepted standees, then I would've gotten on the bus 10 minutes behind her and not had to deal with it. She's taking out her bad day on me (who didn't say a single word to her), and I'm just trying to get where I need to go.

Now you ride the train...... You know i don't have that problem....

y'all don't have access to me to annoy me!

Very mature. You're being paid to provide a service to passengers, not drag service on purpose. Workers like you are exactly why the (MTA) treats its employees like children. I never understood why people like you go into public service for if you can't/refuse to provide professional service, and you think dragging the train is something to brag about. Unbelievable. Yes, I would report you because people like you is the main problem with our transportation system. We need professionals. They do exist in the system, and I have commended them accordingly. They should be rewarded with more pay or other perks.

    FIRST OFF!!!! SHUT UP!

    SECOND! SHUT UP!

THIRD! you don't know me!! You be all on this site talking like you know everything, and sound real stupid! I see i can say anything and your quick to jump to conclusions, or assume! Its passengers like you that don't know how to mind they're business. Passengers like you that causes good works to lose they're job for reporting what they THINK they know!

You do know everytime we get reported by y'all, Y'all help us get more money Via a G2 to counter your bogus report! Lmao!!!!! You so smart you're  dumb! LoL

  5. Of course it does.  All of the kids that come to Riverdale from Yonkers, the Bronx and elsewhere.  I saw it this evening waiting for the BxM2 bus. Two kids were apparently playing basketball. Walked to the bus stop and got on the Bx10 with a story and they did not live in Riverdale.  My point is it isn't residents of Riverdale doing it. We can afford to pay the fare.  We have people coming up here from all over the place, especially in the summertime. Luckily summertime is almost over.   :D

And best believe people in the projects CAN pay as well! THEY JUST CHOOSE NOT TO!

  6. Oh don't play dumb. You know damn well all of those people don't pay, that's what. I've seen it with my own eyes, and their thinking is why should they? It's not that they can't afford to. They just have their priorities out of order. They have expensive clothing on more times than not but can't pay the fare. Some of them will dip an empty Metrocard and pretend like they didn't know nothing is on it. Some will drop a few coins in the farebox (and I do mean a few as if they're senior citizens) and some will walk right on by the farebox. The people that actually pay are FAR less than those that don't. You could accuse me of stereotyping, but unfortunately that wouldn't fly since I've seen this all go down on numerous occasions, so it's the truth. In fact it's so common that the B/O's usually just waive them on rather than hear their sorry excuse as to why they can't pay. I found the whole thing appalling and it's part of why the fare keeps going up. Those of us that pay have to pay for all of the people not paying. It's pathetic. I've only used a handful of Bronx local buses, but God I have to think that the farebeating is as bad there as it is on some of the Staten Island local buses, and interestingly enough, most of those Staten Island lines either terminate or run through housing projects as well, so there's this mentality of I don't have to pay because I'm entitled to a free ride.

No need to accuse you of stereotyping because 70% of your post is stereotyping! But you know what..... Its not just the Projects. it happens in Riverdale too.. I KNOW!!!! I SEEN IT AS WELL!!!!!

  7. You misunderstood.  By paying more, I meant there was less farebeating as opposed to the Bx36.  The Bx36 terminates right by the housing projects. The Bx39 does not Southbound, so that likely explains it.

WHAT DOES TERMINATING BY A HOUSING PROJECT HAS TO DO WITH ANYTHING?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

  8. What's the point of that single track if folks can't get express service? The (6) has a single track too IIRC and there are express trains to Pelham Bay. Why not Van Cortlandt Park? Slip stop service is pointless. There needs to be a real express service for the folks taking the subway down the hill.

The way the tracks is set up and where the Switch point are, it really wouldn't work! Plus there are no land platforms. It just wouldn't run smoothly! One thing that RCC did to me was have me leave in service at 242 and go down the middle to Dyckman because there was a big Gap in service and i had to catch up to My Leader. It saved me about 15 minutes between 242 and dyckman but by time i got to 168, train was crowded.. People are saying more headway, but the means more trains and most of the time ALL THE TRAINS ARE OUT THE YARD DURING THE RUSH! SO where are they gonna get the extra trains from to do that?!?!?!

  9. It's funny how much New Yorkers will put up with on buses and subways, but throw a few bedbugs in there and people go nuts. I've seen people take bomb scares 100 times less seriously than they do bed bug scares!

If you never had bedbugs then u would never know how serious that shit is! id rather have roaches verse bedbugs. them shits travel and dont go away. They also keep u up all night!  i would haul ass too

  10. BxS1

    Runs out of Yonkers Depot

Run From The Bronx (241st White Planes) to Staten Island (Tottenville)

makes tops in the The Bronx like the BxM11 then when On The Triboro goes to Queens/Brooklyn Via BQE to Staten Island the Ride Hylan Blvd to Tottenville...

I know this a far fetched but it does say Create You own Bus Route!
