Is there a way to look up vehicle numbers on Mybusnow. PTV results are super limited for some reason

It's because the API was updated, so they'd have to update accordingly. A lot of other trackers had issues when the update for MyBus first happened, and I'm not too thrilled with the desktop site.

PTV is getting back into the swing of things, buses are slowly starting to show up again.

  2. Not a big fan of this draft to be honest, since it's more of the old with just some minor adjustments here and there and a sprinkle of previous draft ideas. But, I will say, thank GOD they axed the Q10/Q64 and the Q112/Q110 mergers. There was quite a bunch of ideas that I liked from the previous plan that I would've liked to have seen, such as the Q43 to LIJ, the Q17 between Union Turnpike & College Point(one of my favorites personally), the Q45 flanking the Q43 on Hillside until Little Neck Parkway, the proposed Q78, the Q66 to the Ferry Terminal, and a few more ideas. A lot of what was revealed in the draft, I heard about since August. Me personally, I actually wanted to see the craziness that would ensue with the Q21, Q52 and Q53 terminating at Jackson Heights lol.....

Prior to the release of this draft(now that I can actually talk about this), some routes were changed(again). The Q65 was initially going to terminate in the Hollis area and the Q25 was close to maintaining its southern terminal down at Springfield Blvd, but the local community leaders and politicians put the kibosh on that pretty hard. The Q55 was also very close to sticking with the previous plan.

Q11 being the sole Woodhaven Blvd route was strictly for cost-cutting.

Q66 should've still served the Ferry Terminal, especially now that the Q63 is flanking alongside the Q66.

The new Q45 exists as a way for them to eliminate the Springfield Blvd short turns along the Union Turnpike corridor(from what I was told).

The Q37 was a compromise with residents that relied on the connection with the (A), since the Q10 would solely be on Lefferts Blvd. The only reason that it still serves the casino under this new plan is because the casino owners themselves are paying for the service. Initially, there was a plan in which the Q37 would discontinue serving the casino, and another route would take it's place, rumor was the Q7.

Pretty happy that they actually added a stop at 34th/1st for the Downtown Express routes. Easily(and shockingly) one of the most logical things to come from this plan.

Now, the Q56 is basically the only route that serves Jamaica Hospital. That's not gonna fair well in the long term.  They have no idea what to do with serving the hospital.

I'm lowkey curious as to how the B57, the Q75 and the Q104 will work. I'm still baffled as to why the B62 is what it is.

I very much favored the previous Q72 plan of terminating at Queens Center Mall. That one made a lot more sense.

Just saw the documents. I’m already disappointed (75% of riders wanted the Q44 to go to the Bronx High School of Science).

No offense, but hell no. Make a separate route for that. The Q44 is already long and unbearable as it is, sending it to Fordham was already worse.

    --------------------------------------------------

Ah ha.....a lot that I heard several months ago WERE true, ESPECIALLY the Q10/Q64 combo being axed, Q37 to JFK Airport.....should've been the Q9, but whatever.

A lot of this is no surprise to me....been hearing about a lot of these changes since August and the initial release date of this plan.

I'll provide my input later on.

I've been looking at stuff on this forum for years but only today did I finally decide to make an account here. But now that I'm here, I would really appreciate it if anyone here could tell me how to add a profile picture to my account. Also, even after my question gets answered, maybe this thread or whatever it is can stick around so anyone else who joins the forum after me can look here and learn how to do the same for their own accounts.

Go to your profile and click on the icon that's supposed to display a profile picture. You should be able to upload one from there.

Your account might have to age a little more before you're able to do that.

I think that’s supposed to refer to the order that from 2021-2022 when the Orion V’s  were getting replaced.

Read the last sentence of that statement. 66 buses were the original order, but Bee-Line added 40 more to the base order. The future options(504 and up) is up to 52, depends on how much they accept.

Oh, and as for this, maybe (MTA)does this because some higher-up there knows that no matter what they do, the transit fan community will have something to criticize about it, because that's just how transit fan communities are no matter where you find them. Or not.

You're thinking a little too much and too hard into these things.

The MTA can give two shits about what the fan community thinks.

Where does it say that there are supposed to be 50 xde40’s I want a scource or some proof please. Because everywhere I go it says that there are 95 buses.

Slight correction on my part, option orders are up to 52 buses, how many they'll accept is up in the air. Sited from New Flyer themselves. The extra 40 buses they added were tacked onto the base order, they were not a part of any option orders

It's not being wrong, it's being logical.

If you didn't work for the TA, and you missed a job interview while waiting for the (C) and later find out it's because the MTA refuses to use old train cars, you wouldn't be upset?

    Assuming that.

    A. something will show up.

    B. It won't have issues(the R32s had the worst MDBF prior to retirement with multiple brake and door problems, R42s were not far off)

    C. The riding public would even know what the hell is going on.

I'd just leave earlier. That question is one hell of a reach.

    2432 to Castleton from Meredith

This is a perm transfer according to the management of Castleton

I'm going to reiterate this again.

Just because someone says its permanent, it doesn't mean that it's actually permanent.

And how do you know management says that? If this comes from those kids on Discord, I wouldn't believe them at all.....

Ok so there is a 504 Xcelsior already built and awaiting delivery. It seems the Nabis are on there way out and the Bee Line fleet could be 100% Xcelsiors by the end of 2024

(If we don't count the BxM4C; their replacements are debatable)

its a small option order. 10 XDE35s are supposed to be included in this as well.

As for the BxM4C, if Liberty Lines doesn't get a contract this month(it expires this month), you can kiss that BxM4C goodbye, since Liberty Lines owns the route.

ENY doesn't need an extra bus. As the people above have stated, it will either go to Quill or Brooklyn or Jamaica. It really depends if the DOB wants Jamaica to return the Castleton buses they got as compensation.

Those will likely stay at Jamaica. They basically got back what they lost when Castleton Depot was flooded and a bunch of buses were heavily damaged due to the flood waters. QV and Jamaica sent buses down to cover for Castleton's shortage, while Yukon covered some trips.

As for 7568.....the bus is technically not an oddball(I don't know why folks are trippin' over that, only difference is the number and the sign). It could end up at Quill in theory, or ENY to push a Next Gen out, or elsewhere with XD40s. It could even end up at Gun Hill, they've been having a bit of problems with those XD40s up there. Wherever it goes, it's not a big deal.

A friend spoke to a Greenville op who was doing the Metropark-Matawan NJCL bus bridge (a job only done by the Central Div) and that op said Greenville was part of that Div, this was like 3 weeks ago. Bus was #5740

Greenville is a northern division garage, chief. Nothing has changed as to what garage is in what division.

    You got really bad information.

By transit? Because I can just simply drive there (and end up paying those exorbitant parking fees)....

If you mean by transit, I would either take *whatever* route to Union City & xfer to the #85, or the #320 option (to the #85)... Depends on what mood I'm in (as with most things).... One thing I'm not ever doing again though is the #160 to the #703.

Not sure whatever you may be trying to get at by asking me this, but I'm telling you flat out that I would not take that #355... And it's not a matter of cost/affordability for me either, it's a matter of principle, like I said earlier..... Crazy that I can go significantly deeper into NJ on NJT from NYC than the Meadowlands for less.....

That's exactly how I look at it, and why I never bothered to fan the 355 ever since it's inception.

wow that’s insane that it was sold for that little. But what happened to VanHool? I thought they were going to purchase it.

I don't think they were listed as a potential suiter for the business. I think they were shooting for the battery business, not the bus manufacturing side of things.

Besides the charging methods on the LFS in NYCT and MTA Bus, the doors are a difference for anyone that noticed. At one time at Jamaica Center, I saw one on the Q31 at Jamaica Av that has the rear doors slide outwards like all the other NYC units. However, the Q6, few days ago, the LFS out of MTA Bus has the doors swinging inwards like the 2010 units, 8504-8754.

    .....charging methods?

  16. Okay, something needs to be said, because this is getting annoying even for me.
Unless its absolutely certain that a bus is retired and is at Eastchester or stripped for parts or whatever, do not report anything.
Some of y'all have been making a ton of false reports, and some of y'all are trying to get ahead of the curve for clout, you know who you are, cut that shit out.
Removal of farebox does not automatically mean that the bus is retired.

Post only if a bus is ACTUALLY retired by way of it being towed to/at Eastchester scrap, stripped for parts or whatever, stop posting all of this situational shit that make it seem they are actually retired or not.
