  1. I definitely agree the people at the top who make the decisions aren’t always thoughtful the X prefix should stay the number sequence is there “reconfiguring the network” doesn’t mean you have to rebrand the service What they need to be worrying about is the full integration and route swaps between NYCT & MTA Bus to reduce running times from the depot to the first stop and the unnecessary mileage accumulated on these buses there’s going to be a lot of upheaval But that’s the true definition of “reconfiguring the network” not worrying about changing a route prefix from X to SIM
  2. In reference to what was stated about the land on 1st Avenue which stretches from E 38th-E 41st streets it use to be a ConEd power plant as per this article http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/20/nyregion/prime-lot-empty-for-years-yes-this-is-manhattan.html don’t know how the City or the MTA missed this opportunity back in 2000
  3. looks as if they’re getting ready to intergrate NYCT into MTA Bus I thought it was supposed to be the other way around I dislike the Borough designation the X designation stands out denoting it as an express bus route and there is a wide range of numbers that they can possible use Ex. X1-X92 I remember when the West Side Depot now MJQ had the X91 X92
  4. Actually Bus Operator exam 4600 is TA which is Brooklyn,Queens, and Staten Island Division the only TA depot in Manhattan was 126th st which is closed now here is the deal if you are TWU local 100 this where it gets confusing you are allowed to pick into OA depots when the GP is held and vice versa for OA operators if you decide during training that you want to transfer to Queens or Staten Island you would be represented by ATU 1056 Queens and ATU 726 Staten Island and you're there until you retire
  5. Wrong wrong area please delete and refer any questions that you may have to the employment section of the forums which you will find at the bottom of the webpage

  7. He's looking to get into Michael J. Quill Depot
  8. if you aren't quite sure the best way to go about it would be to call your old employer(s) ask for HR and ask to speak to someone about employment verification
  9. They implemented this rule in March whereas if there is a suspension on your abstract you won't go forward with pre-employment until the suspension falls off of the abstract in prior years this wasn't an issue this only pertains to Buses and not Subways from my understanding
  10. Very illogical move #1 all East New York bound Limited buses went local after Rockaway Parkway Station I still want to know what was the rationale behind this and why wasn't there any public hearings in regards to scaling back/curtailing Limited stop service
  11. DueceDrives is correct the Pension systems are different TA is Civil Service OA is not. Queens and Staten Island are represented by ATU with differing Locals
  12. MaBSTOA the (Operating Authority) sole responsibility is bus operations in the Boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx while New York City Transit Authority (Transit Authority) sole responsibility is bus operations in the Boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and 126th Street Depot which is the only TA Depot in the Borough of Manhattan MaBSTOA (OA) MANHATTAN & BRONX MANHATTAN DIVISION MANHATTANVILLE DEPOT TUSKEGEE AIRMEN DEPOT MICHAEL J QUILL DEPOT MOTHER CLARA HALE DEPOT (UC) AMSTERDAM DEPOT (CLOSED MUSEUM FLEET) BRONX DIVISION KINGSBRIDGE DEPOT WEST FARMS DEPOT GUN HILL DEPOT New York City Transit Authority (TA) BROOKLYN DIVISION ULMER PARK DEPOT EAST NEW YORK DEPOT JACKIE GLEASON DEPOT FRESH POND DEPOT FLATBUSH DEPOT GRAND AVENUE DEPOT QUEENS DIVISION JAMAICA DEPOT QUEENS VILLAGE DEPOT CASEY STENGEL DEPOT MANHATTAN DIVISION 126TH STREET DEPOT STATEN ISLAND DIVISION YUKON DEPOT CASTLETON DEPOT MEREDITH DEPOT CHARLESTON DEPOT MaBSTOA (OA) is a subsidiary of New York City Transit
  13. Correct this isn't the first time an accident like this has occurred Back in 1999 an FDNY truck which was responding to a call was involved in an accident with a NYCT Bus killing the Bus Operator from Jackie Gleason Depot http://www.nytimes.com/1999/11/26/nyregion/bus-driver-killed-in-crash-with-fire-truck-in-brooklyn.html
  14. My condolences to the Peña family without a doubt this was a horrible accident what I've learned from news reports is that the box truck was not being pursued by the police and Mr. Peña had the right of way residents in the neighborhood stated that the individual who swiped the truck was frantic and sweating profusely and also banging on doors and ringing intercoms which indicates to me that he was on some type of illegal narcotic NYCT buses are equipped with lap belts and not shoulder harness belts that we associate with passenger cars
  15. It seems to me that all of MTA Bus routes are long haul routes and I don't know who makes the decisions on route assignments but if anybody had any brains the Q53 would be a Split route operation no reason why that route went from LaGuardia to College Point my question is why is Far Rockaway not operating that route same goes for the BM1 and BM3 which should be operating out of Flatbush and BM4 out of Ulmer Park it can be done just like they moved the X80 to MTA Bus there's no problem with MTA Bus laying over at OA garages so what's the problem with route reassignments
  16. This exam is for MaBSTOA (OA) filing period 06/04-06/24 2014 as per NYCT exam section posted on mta.info
  17. They're known to put either OA or BC after the title and neither one of those divisions are listed it's posted on mta.info http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/appexam.htm
  18. Who would have thought another TA exam so soon
  19. That never came to mind aemoreira81 but you might be right that person had to be standing right next to that window how can you explain 1 entry and 2 exit holes that person is no marksman
  20. 100th Street Depot was renamed the Tuskegee Airmen Depot And you omitted Mother Clara Hale which is slated to be completed sometime this year or next year IIRC
  21. Hello Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding someone is using their head being that its every half hour which means 2 Buses every hour definitely doable and same goes with the B83 which can also be interlined with the B84
  22. Maybe a little off topic but with the departure of LIB I've noticed on mta.info that they no longer have a President for (MTA)Bus does it or could it mean that they have integrated it into NYCT
  23. That's Nassau County PROBLEM had the people re-elected Suozzi they probably wouldn't be in this predicament
