  1. Smh they have the right to complain. The 507/508/509 are late all the time because they run together. This is why i try to stay off the 507/8/9 Lets say you do 2/507, that consist of a one way 507, round trip 508, one way 509. Runs 1-22 507s are like that. Ppl need to stop writing ish on the net and give njt an earful. As for the guy riding free complaining to the drive will do nothing; you got to complain to njt.
  2. Demo. First mci d4000s to enter service. 7501-7503 are the demos. If peeps start posting which buses are where ill update it.
  3. Most of the 40s you guys got came from twp. Those 8200 40fters. The only bus howell got from us is 7409.
  4. Lmaoo. Ill get a reading for ya. 7187 has the least miles. Has only 600,000. Hardly use it on the 319. Sees alot of its life on 552/553 trippers.
  5. Egg Harbor: NABI-31: 1601-1626 NABI-416.15: 6206-6234 MCI D4000: 7401-7407,7410-7418, 7501(demo), 7505, 7606-7608,7783-7784,7801,7932-7933,8026-8029,8033,8278-8284 MCI D4500CL w/ Lavs: 7179-7187
  6. I was talking about Egg Harbor first new mcis with those numbers mentioned. 7531-41 went to fairview after 7177-87 arrived then 7531-41 went to howell. As for getting 7531-41 back, not happening. They dont want any 40fters at egg harbor, and that option for 10 electric hybrids will likely be taken with the lavs. Im not sure if anyone knows but the order for the hybrids may total up to 105 buses. 3500-3537 will be the first 37, then 3538-3548 with lavs. Washington Twp will be getting a bunch of Howells 7400 and 8200 D4500s. Lol we have to keep our buses up. Running 24hrs puts a toll on them, they are put through heavy maintenance daily. 7181 blew a turbo and within 2 days it was back in service, 7181 again bellows blew in the rear and the kneeler blew(happened all at once; what are the odds) and was back in service in 3 days. No problems since.
  7. Those came from fairview. We have 7783-84. On another note 7182 is freshly rebuilt and sitting at meadowlands waiting its return to egg harbor. 7401-7418 are some old suckers, came in 2001 first started at meadowlands. Egg harbor didnt get new mcis until the 7600s and 7700s; 7800-7801; 7531-41; 7781-7787; 7771-7777; 8280-8285. Dont remember exactly which set of the 7600s came first. Then there was a big bus shift when most of the mcis arrived.
  8. Lol howell took that bus ages ago hahaha they can keep it. Traded it for 7932/33. Has there emblem on it and all.
  9. Interesting news about these hybrids. This entire order is going to a test to see how well they perform. If they dont perform to the likes of njt these will be the last hybrids njt ever buys and we'll be stuck with the problem childs.
  10. http://patch.com/new-jersey/lacey/car-and-new-jersey-transit-bus-collide-route-9-lacey-four-reported-injureded-0#.VEBjjdm9LCQ The driver is fine and he is a very good friend of mines, but it doesnt look good for njt.
  11. Im all for the hybrids but running these things 24/7 is gona put them through hell. The workhorse of the 553 killer.
  12. We are becoming an all 45' garage. The 552/3/9 ;313/315 will be all CTH. As for the 319, if they dont get the option for 10 with lavs then they wont be on the 319.
  13. Sounds like there good! Bz ill be expecting you to come for a ride when then arrive lol. More take off power then the 7100s thats all you had to tell me.
  14. Howell youll get your 520 fast just from working the 139 and being stuck in traffic. I went full time in 3months. You want to be at a garage where they going to work you. Some garages will keep you at exactly 30hrs/part time for up to 2years. Find out how many drivers are at orange and you can quickly find out how fast youll get full time. If they have under 200 drivers its gona take a while. I dont know anything about orange. As was stated you need to put your bus hobby out of your choice cause it can hurt you and youll end up saying you should have picked another garage. Look at it like this, most drivers work full service then retire on a local line. Here at egg harbor most retire on the 319 or 501/502/504/505. Do you want to work a local for 25yrs, or do you want the option to retire on a sweet full service line or retire on a local after working full service for 20yrs. You want to have an option thats just my opinion. Now being howell is all full service they still have easy routes that you can retire on. 137 for example is one the parkway express 137. Locals your gona be working but you deal with no money, but can you deal with the constant stop and go every block vs long haul your always moving, full service your making change. Do not make your choice based on liking the nabis/novas.
  15. I picked back onto extra board for the fall pick. And when he said EXACTLY 8 hrs hes not kidding. Ive sat on roll call for 3hrs 59mins and the 4th hour got sent on a 10hr job come back and by the time ive turned my money in i have under 8hrs left to be back. It doesnt mean 8hrs of sleep either. Living close to your assigned garage helps. You dont want to be in a situation driving 1hr-1hr 1/2 having exactly 8hrs off. They dont care how far you live.
  16. There not cutting service, not everyone worked at the casinos. I thought ridership would have dropped on these routes but they havent. These 45fters are coming because of crowding issues on the 552/3/9. If they cut runs 1 through 10 on the 553/9 it wont be pretty; the 11th 553 is already on the rd by 409am. 1/552 keeps ppl going to wildwood. Goes to cape may and deadheads back to ac then goes back to cape may.
  17. Hmm Toms River, Howell would be my choice. Atleast if Howell calls you in youll be a short drive away vs orange. But if you want orange go for it. I was a busfan before i came to transit but after a while it becomes a job and i lost it. Well training is 18-22days, after the interview you do your medical on a different day. Within the first 7 days of training you go for your cdl rd test on the course they have at howell. You must pass it the first time or thats it. If i were you id think long and hard between Howell & Orange. Put your busfan side away and make that choice based on not being a bus fan.
  18. Heard from the foreman at eht there leaving that block of numbers open after the possible 47 for up to 105 buses after the option of that extra 10. 7401-7418; 7501,7505 are the first to go. Demo should be here jan-feb. That demo will make or break the use of these hybrids, as these will be the first to be used in a 24/7 operation around the clock. Imo hybrids are not feasible for the workhorse of nj transit, i can see city buses but mcis noooo. Hell those novas hybrids that were at hamilton were problematic, i cant speak too much on 4004-4007.
