  1. When I was on one the A/Cs were on full blast, that's probably because they ran some of them all night

My buddy told me this, this morning on my way home. He's TWU Union rep for t/o's also my fellow co-worker who works the J told me she took one out of service at Parsons, the took the 160 lay up from the back to replace the bad 32. Train op on the had to be removed to the hospital after suffering from heat exhaustion while the road car inspector was in her position inspecting the A/C trying to make it work, I forgot what line he told me that was on.

Mind you some R-160's are blowing hot also

  2. Following changes go in effect all R32s are coming off the (C), they will be displaced by R46s, no word on the R160s or the R32s at ENY, the R32s at ENY are doing great, its not confirmed that the R32s will go to the (A) but it may or may not happen

the 32's on the (J) are not doing great. Last week there were many ABD's because of hot cars

  3. If there's a shortage of T/O's in the B division, then wouldn't be easier to pick a job?

there's a shortage of XX people to fill jobs when the people who have picked jobs book off, get sent for randoms, get sent to the MAC for an incident, get put out of service, need test trains, need to do a move from one yard to another ect ect.

  4. I have a feeling it has something to do with the 30 jobs they cut for us. Some old timers are pretty annoyed. If they are, I don't blame them at all.

Back in the day after school car you go straight to the yard, then they changed it. Now they changed it again. What can you do? It is what it is.

  5. WTF? I called over there today, "last hired was 1160 something" I was hoping to get a call for this august class since I re took the drug test 7/10

Now I see 12's are getting in Aug classes and I'm still waiting by the phone. #124X waiting like an a$$hole here.

  6. 344X and I got a 100 if i remember correctly lol

I took the physical in 2008 at a queens location thinking they were gonna call me soon. What a joke this exam was. But I know with people who left MTA to go work for sani, Less headaches over there. With TA your dealing with the customers and they have eyes on you 24-7 Sanitation is much more relaxed and great pay.

  7. I go in friday for final processing and my mother just called me saying I recieved a notice @ her house to start the sanitation process. My list # on that was high so I didnt think I would ever get a call. Is that better then the TO position?

What was your # on sanitation? I'm on that list also but in the 4900's with a 98 score

  8. Just make sure you don't fall asleep in that waiting room for the medical. 2 years ago when I was there they had NY1 playing on those monitors, now there's nothing and its only you, a conversation or your thoughts in your head to keep you awake. They pulled the bullshit that I have sleep apnea because they seen me dozing off. Yes sitting there 5+ hours does that to people.

And the head doctor there wears all camouflage, like he's hunting wabbit. Watch him because he's a dick.

  9. My list # is 108x and I didn't get a phone call for my medical, so I thought I would call. Apparantly I was supposed to be there today for my Medical which I never received a phone call for they said they left a message and I asked what # did you leave a message with? They didn't answer they just transfered me to the person who makes the phone calls and she resheduled me for the 17th. Let us know how it goes for you, Good Luck.

    very typical. unbelievable

  10. I don't think you'll see any changes for now.  I suspect you will see some changes as the new buildings on the Hudson Yards go up and are actually operational in a few years.

That would be when I would be looking to do a move of the (C) to the Culver line after West 4th, running with the (F) with the (F) (as a Culver Local) shortened to Church Avenue and the (C) (as a Culver express) replacing it to Coney Island (except overnights, when the (F) would run as it does now) while the (E) replaces the (C) as a local in Brooklyn to Euclid (though some (E) 's would run to Chambers as they do now to avoid capacity issues in rush hours and overnights would be extended to Lefferts to replace the overnight shuttle) with a 2-5 TPH supplemental (K) line replicating the old (AA) between Chambers and 168th for those in lower Manhattan looking for the upper west side local stations (weekends, the (K) would be a 2-6 TPH line since the (B) does not run then).

By the times those buildings in the Hudson Yards go up, I suspect you will see a demand for 8th Avenue service from the Culver line as some companies are already as I understand it committed to moving there when those buildings open, with an increased demand overall for 8th Avenue service.  By then, hopefully there will be enough subway cars available to handle such.

    Go get laid dude

  11. Thank you for the heads up. I also heard that if you don't get a job within a full 8 hours you get paid for the whole day. Meaning you will be basically hanging out with the guys in the crew room playing cards. Union rule once, you sign in with the Train Dispatcher; your on the payroll automatically. One ques: what is the name of the person that does the schedule in the crew office???

Yes you get paid for anything you do when you work down here. There's too many people in the crew office, not just one.

  12. Went this afternoon to 180 Livingston and was told that the last hired is still 1061 and that the July 29th class is still on schedule. I got home a couple of hours later and received the letter from them for the Pre interview and medical examination. So things are moving folks. Stay positive and things will come around. #1259

did you take the drug test in May with that list #? because that's close to mine.

  13. So no real answer for the July class yet or will it be postponed? I took my DT 5/13 and still waiting on the call. Getting through to TA is not that easy but staying positive. Would love to start ASAP just like everyone else here. Thanks for all the advice and pointers you guys that are in already have posted here. I appreciate all the help.

You didn't get a letter to come back sometime in July? I wrote there preparing for a Aug Sept class. No July class
