  1. Yeah...Had my feelings hurt today - got thrown in the B. Hopefully we'll get most of the weekends off during Schoolcar. :-/ Still happy I'm hired, but I'll always have it in the back of my mind that I'll live close to quite a few A Div reporting locations. BTW, the TSS who spoke with us today said there's no April class scheduled as of yet, but there's a lot of folks still retiring.

Your going to love the B. Born and raised in the B div. All the A div is, is a bunch of toy trains.

  2. Dave come on now thats how it always is with New Folks chit happens..

No matter how much some think "They got it"...

BTW im hearing "stories" about a T/O in the B Div posting hes already starting to Piss folks off a know it all..

Thats Ok though hes gonna learn and quick...

I think hes in Mediccjh's class...

    Find out

  3. I guess they just can't accommodate you guys yet because almost everyone in my class that came out 3 weeks ago received the tour they requested from the wish list including myself. Yea I got the tour I wanted but they still sending my behind across the city when my classmate lives right in that area and they send him over my way smh.

Expect 3 to 5 years of that buddy so get your crying out now. The crew office will BREAK you.

  4. After every trip, I make it a point to ask the Conductor how my operation was. So far, no complaints.

Yeah you did good today, Smooth sailing the whole night except for the hold up at 81 street going south on our 1st 1/2.

  5. Congrats.

Excellent night road posting on the (A). My motorman got me to perfect my stopping on the R46s. Did 2 trips; he piloted the first one while I took notes, and I piloted the second.

    (Q) from Coney tonight.

How do the conductors like working with you?

  6. I finally start Schoolcar 3/25 :-). What day should I start bringing a backpack? Since our first two days are Downtown BK then P.S. 248 - I'll be hopping on the train. I took that drive to P.S. 248 once and traffic going to and from was murder!! How many days do we report to 248? Thanks in advance.

Bring it the 1st day, When you get all your books make sure its a big backpack because its going to be a ton of books and shit. Also your radio & mask.

  7. Some Good News for you R42 Fans, the TA decided not to go with the plan on retiring the R42's this year, also the summer swaps will going on every summer until the R179's arrive, also the (Base order R160A-1's) will undergo SMS (8313-8652) so this might be intresting and THEY will not use the R143's for the (J)/(M) so ENY might need all of thier R42's for the summer and its still possible that the R32's MIGHT still go to ENY as spares just incase an R42 crap out

The 32 & 42 going back to the (A) is not good news for me.

  8. We're doing Night Road Operations; last night we took an R46 up and down the (A). It made me its bitch. My stopping and braking was atrocious; I had a very off day.

Tonight we'll be on the (B) and (D) from Concourse to Coney. Hopefully the SMEEs will be nice to me.

Did you lay up a train at pitkin from Lefferts? If so my school car classmate is in your class. A. Yang I picked him up at Euclid last night around 3am

  9. Yes. In all truth i just want to get back on the road and finish my road posting. I already miss being behind the controls of the R62 lol. I'm loving that train.

I'm even far from a rookie. I'm not even done with school car and got my first 12-9.

So now what? What did they tell you to do? & for alot of train ops, this won't be the first time. I've had 6 subway surfer incidents, pulled the cord every time. People do stupid shit down here, they have no respect for these trains and the workers.

  10. Thats what they want for A Div but they can't figure out how they going to work in there new plan because not enough TSS' s and that means overtime every day. Also change of the gard the ACTO pushing the idea is being pushed into B Div and A Div getting a new guy. Lots of changes coming in RTO. Also the TSS pick is postponed unit the new guys figure it out.

Change of the guard,ACTO? What does this mean?

    Changes in RTO like what?

  11. Dan - do we need an independent reviewer to check all my posts?! Any inquiries I've made about someone's list # or range has been after they publicly posted some information seeking more clarity. If they were kind enough to respond I always thanked them; if not then I left it alone.

Plus I feel that I've been very polite in my posts, and reciprocal in sharing honest and update information to the best of my knowledge.

Personally  - I feel that you are hijacking this thread about some MTA paranoia reading this thread. So let's keep it funky fresh here, this is a public forum that "anyone" can check and respond to.

    Ok, then my apologies.

  12. Correct - I am waiting to be called, and I believe I have stated on this site my list # range is low 900's. As per my notes, I check off list#'s and ranges using the pdf which I downloaded from the Chief.

Please explain how my actions are suspect when I'm using public and freely shared information; then reorganizing it and reposting for other's "FYI"?

Does anyone else have a better method other than calling DCAS or MTA HR? Please advise...

Your actions, questions seem suspect because it looks like your looking for something other that your list # to come up. Actually it looks like your working at MTA and reading all our post.

I'm listed between 580-600 and I went in for the DT 1/31. Someone else mentioned (List 550-600) that they received a call to come in for Medical processing the day after their DT. IMO, there's nothing "suspect" about taking notes in regards to when forum members go in for DT's and Medical processing. All that does is prevent someone from having to comb through 70+ pages to answer a question that has probably already been asked an answered.

Everyone whose on here waiting is getting called putting up there list # range and keeping the topic up to date. Its suspect when he's asking everyone who post here thats on the list what their list # is. Read all his post and you will see what I'm reffering to.

  13. HI Urbanfortititude: is it possible to give an approximate time stamp for that posting, otherwise as per my notes the latest list # range for DT is btw 640-660 as of 4:15pm - 2/04/2013. If I'm wrong someone please reply back.

What notes are you taking? are you waiting to be called from this exam? Your actions are very suspect.

  14. In my opinion both jobs are difficult - Conductors have it a little harder when it comes to dealing with the public. Too many nasty folks out there that taunt and spit on someone just trying to earn a living and serve the public. All done while keeping a level head so as to not get written up or terminated. With the added bonus of less pay.

Yes you are correct. its not easy as easy as it looks, you deal with some of the nastiest public who look at you like you owe them money, eyes always on you especially with supervision because of knuckleheads F'n up the job ect ect. & all this for a pennies. I look at my paycheck after 2 weeks I want to cry.

  15. @Dan

110X so I've got some time, but it's moving faster than expected while the conductor one has hit a brick wall

Its gettiing close I'm in the 12's, you might be getting called for this instead of conductor. Better anyway better paying and a better job. Conductors get looked down on while train ops are the respected ones.
