The reason why you haven't gotten a call is because there are still classes going on. Once a class is ready to hit the road they start calling a bunch of people for the final processing, the day of the final if all goes well they swear you in and give you a start date.

Anyone hear receive a duplicate pre-employment letter in the mail recently? I just went last week and know I got the same exact letter as the first time in the mail to report next week.

Regardless of the type you get I HIGHLY recommend getting the custom Dr Scholls inserts. Find a store that has the machine (like Walgreens, Walmart, CVS). Invest in your feet, it will be the best money spent. And if for some crazy reason they don't work, save the package and receipt, Dr Scholls will refund you.

Good tip, because the shoes they issue you suck, and you can be prone to getting heal spur's I suffered from a heal spur for almost 1 year after working in TA So make sure your feets are comfy because there is a lot of walking in this job.

Ok, I just got a letter to go in for my drug test for Train operator. It does say 20.9600 per hour and it does say Train op/yard. So I have to find out what that's about. Thank you.

Trust me I wasn't expecting it but I'll definitely go in. And I didn't take the conductors exam only the TO exam. My letter also starts 20 and change an hour position says train operator (yard). Does that make a difference? I figured it gets me in the door.

Man listen, no disrespect but you should have took the job. Even with your shaky background, if you were truthful and disclosed everything, and they still wanna hire you, why turn it down. Trust me if they thought something was shady in your background, the interviewer would have went over it with you and asked you about it. So if they are offering you the job, obviously they don't see anything to worry about. You had to list all arrests and all that stuff so if you were truthful and disclosed everything, then of course they saw it but still decided to offer you a job. Should have took the offer my friend.

hey, quick question. i tried to use my pass on the Q8 today because we had to go to Pitkin yard. both times i got on the Q8 my pass was "invalid" and the 2nd time the bus driver said it won't work on the old Green Bus Lines. but when they gave us our pass they said it will work on all local buses. what gives?????

 

edit: the bus drivers had no problem letting me on but i just wanna know because i don't like using my pass where i'm not supposed to (LIRR, etc.)

Your pass only works on MTA NYC transit buses not MTA buses, and not express buses like the MCI buses. Also why are you dipping your pass, you were told that would ruin the pass weren't you?

The is a fully underground route so the A/c's have to work hard to push out air while dealing with the heat from the tunnels and the stations. The isn't fully underground so the natural breeze from the outside helps to maintain a stable climate and it's express so you won't lose air from constantly opening the doors. Its a dumb idea to me because the is much longer than the which means the trains get beat to death more and since it's a full time line there's less time for the trains to be maintained by their respective barns which leads to more problems...

 

 

& i'm not to sure how long the T/A has been doing this but it's about time the 32's get retired they served their purpose and it's about time Fulton/ Nostrand gets some new trains instead of these lemon hand me downs...

Its a bunch of bullshit. I know the real reason why they do this swap. I've operated plenty of 32's in the summer on the that were hot as hell out doors and then get cooler when underground. And hot cars that the crew have to be in don't get fixed, they get "buried" If you work down here you know what I mean.
