...and I'm of the belief that the continued running of it to QBP has quite a bit to do with that underserving.

Should've just kept those stops along Northern & truncated the thing to run b/w Northern Blvd (M)(R) & Flushing.... Something else should be covering 35th.... The connection to 21st st. subway from points east, simply doesn't have near the same importance nowadays, as it did back when they extended the Q66 to QBP in the late 80's (or whenever that subway station opened).... Nowadays, for the most part, the Q66 is just another bus along 21st.... Those Jackson Hgts. patrons bombard the shit out of the route & the way I see it, they're being penalized because they continue to have trips running to QBP....(B)

Fall of 89 to be exact when the Queensbridge station (then (B)(Qorange)) opened. I guess the (MTA)felt it was a stub and sent the 66 to Queens Plaza in 2007. Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of this proposed 63 if it were cut back to Woodside?

  2. According to the stats, this is how each route ranked in their respective borough:

Bx18 ranked 34th out of 37 routes. This was pre redesign of course.

    The B60 ranked 28th out of 54

    The M116 ranked 18th out of 38

    The Q4 ranked 27th out of 78

    The S46/96 ranked 4th out of 22

Their claim is that these network designs are re-imagined, but all they really are in general, are combinations and/or (otherwise) alterations to current routes....

As to that proposed Q48 of theirs, all that is, is a renumbered Glen Oaks branch of the current Q46.... Eliminating/Phasing out the current Q48 in general, I personally don't take issue with.... I concur with having the Q19 take over the Q48 b/w Astoria Blvd/108th & Downtown Flushing (the rest of what they're proposing for the Q19 past Downtown Flushing is overkill)... However, having the Q50 run to LGA, AFAIC, is a big fat Noooo.... I mean, it's a bit of a pain for most Bronxites to even get to the Q50, let alone having those riders slog through Flushing before hitting the airport.... They'd have been much better off having an LGA - Bronx route emanate from somewhere in the West Bronx.....Broader reach....

I suppose I can understand them wanting to preserve a connection to LGA from Flushing, but I'd much rather have the Q50 left alone, the Q19 taking over the Q48's portion b/w Astoria Blvd/108th & Downtown Flushing, and have whatever Flushing riders seeking the airport take the (7) to either Woodside or 74th for the Q70.... I'm of the belief that some people are doing the latter anyway....

I'm still trying to wonder why the Q19 needed to be extended east to Beechhurst too.

Because Laguradia does not have as many flights to state wide destinations as JFK. I’ve lived here for a long time and have never used LGA, only EWR & JFK.

I don't mean to go off topic, but didn't someone here propose a Staten Island Newark Airport route?

    In Queens, Manhattan-bound 7 skips 111 St and 82 St-Jackson Hts

Beginning May 15, Mon 5:00 AM through October 2023

    Use nearby 103 St-Corona Plaza, 90 St-Elmhurst Av or 74 St-Broadway stations.

    Additional travel alternatives:

For service to 111 St, take the 7 to 103 St-Corona Plaza and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7.

    For service to 82 St-Jackson Hts, take the 7 to 74 St-Broadway and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7.

For service from these stations, take the 7 to 90 St-Elmhurst Av or Mets-Willets Point, and transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7.

Travel tip: Consider Q32 or Q48 buses available days and evenings along Roosevelt Ave.

For 111 St, connect between the 7 and Q48 and at Mets-Willets Point.

    For 82 St-Jackson Hts, connect between the 7 and Q32 at 74 St-Broadway.

    What's happening?

    We're making station improvements

No mention of the (Q33)between 82 and 74?

Only the portion from WBP to Broadway Junction (i.e. The section under the (J) ) would receive overnight service. The corridors where it is the only form of transit would be left without overnight service (similar to the situation with the overnight Bx39).

The Q33 being extended to Broadway Junction via Sunnyside would be way too long, and there is debate about whether there is even demand between Sunnyside/Greenpoint and Broadway Junction, let alone between Jackson Heights and Broadway Junction.

There is that B57 that's being proposed for Downtown Brooklyn and Jackson Heights
