Finally had a good commute this evening! Rode a speedy 6324 on the S62 and got off at Victory Blvd and Bay Street, then rode the SIR to Grasmere, then rode 4253 on the S79 and got perfect connections with the to to the .

Rode Orion V 6319 on the S61 today. The bus was good, but the B/O could have been WAY faster.

3960 is at KB, spotted at 218/Bway NIS tonight
3960's been at KB for a little while now.

Well, the S79 local currently has 20 minute headways during midday hours, but I like your setup.

Rode two Orion 5's 6345 on the S61 and 6305 on the S62. Did NOT like either one of them. But the upside was that the S62 got to St. George just in time for the 3:50 ferry.

Some of Yukon's Orion 5s are somewhat clean, but there are others that still have not even had a repaint job.

Plus ridership was already decreasing on the B48 before it's cutback to Fulton St.

I say keep the current S74/S78 routing to Bricktown Mall. Those routes are becoming more useful and provide access to those shopping areas. This post is a @ qjtransitmaster.

I apologoze if I misunderstood your ideas., but I do have common sense. No offense, but sometimes I have difficulty understanding your ideas.
It's cool that you want to fill in the gaps of the Island that don't have service.

As far as I know, the S44's that terminate at Post/Jewett Avs during PM rush hour turn right onto Jewett and then deadhead back to the ferry and repeat again. And during this time everything is from Yukon. I would not have the S44 locals stop at CSI even by taking the MLK. The S92 is faster from St. George.
I don't see the need to restore the S67. The S57 does fine by itself north of Victory Blvd.
Eliminating the S62 during rush hours isn't a smart idea because it does get a good amount of people coming from Travis. Sometimes, when I go to the Showplace Bowling Alley, I see some Ferry bound S62's get SRO.
The S74, just keep it as it is.
As I already suggested, the S59 and S78 would do fine as supplemental locals for the S79 limited.

The S89 has gotten busy since It's first day of service.
As for ideas... many were said in the old Staten Island bus idea thread, but I'll still list something I got:
S79
I personally don't think it needs SBS. It should just run limited only during rush hours. The S59 and S78 would be local supplements.
The S79 Limited stops would be:
- 86 St/ 4 Av Station
- 86 St/ 5 Av
- 92 St/ Fort Hamilton Pkwy
- Narrows Rd/ Fingerboard Rd
- Narrows Rd/ Hylan Blvd
- Hylan Blvd/ Clove Rd
- Hylan Blvd/ Seaview Av
- Hylan Blvd/ Midland Av
- Hylan Blvd/ New Dorp Lane
- Hylan Blvd/ Tysens Lane
- Hylan Blvd/ Nelson Av
- Richmond Av/ Hylan Blvd
- Richmond Av/ Eltingville SIR station
- Eltingville Transit Center
Then all stops to the Staten Island Mall
My only other idea is for the S93
I would have it expanded to a full weekday route. It starts and ends the same hours. Midday headways would 30 minutes.
The route would also stay the same. I felt a few members asked for a little too much with all those S93 extensions and S83 this and that.
If the S93 ran all day, it would kill two birds with one stone:
- Take some crowding off the S53 and S62
- Also give SI it's first Limited route to run during midday hours
3 - 86 St/ 4 Av Station

I've ridden the X28 on a weekend before. It does NOT need weekend service restored at least in my opinion.

6165 is at CAS. Spotted on the S54.
2783 is also at CAS. Spotted near Willowbrook yesterday on the X10 and has CAS stickers.

The Q31 ooerates out of CS right? I could have sworn it was JAM.
Yes, the Q31 is out of CS.
That reminds me, on Friday I rode 671 in the Q32 from Penn Station to Queens. That was the first time (technically the second) the I rode that route.

I got Orion 7.501 CNG 7819 on the Bx36 LTD and the farebox was broken.

Yeah I know all of that. Remember I lived on Staten Island for many years, so I've seen a bit of everything, which was my point, not that I was necessarily shocked. The other possibility of course is that dispatch will ask around to see if anyone can do "X" run which could come from any depot depending on how desperate they are. I've heard them over the radio asking if anyone is available to do such and such run. The real question is why does Staten Island have such a hard time filling runs? From what I've heard some B/Os don't like working on Staten Island and some say it is a schlepp to get to. Is this the only reason??
As for runs, I think it could of the fact that not many bus operators are available when they are needed. For example, they call out sick, but the depot doesn't always find a replacement which is why some buses go MIA. I've seen this a LOT with the SI local routes, but not sure about the express.

On Staten Island anything is impossible ever since Charleston opened. I won't be shocked if a Prevost pulls up tonight on the X12. Here and there they'll stick new buses on that line.
Sometimes you'll see D4500CT's on the X12 because it has some trippers out of Castleton.

My first express bus ride- MCI 4306 on the X1 back in August of 2009.

Commute turned out to be wonderful this evening. Rode Orion 5 6092 on the S92 going toward CSI, Orion 7 NG 4255 returning, Nova LFS 8002, on the S53, then Orion 7 CNG 7591 on the B16 (which was unusally packed due to parent teacher conference) and then finished it off with Orion 5 CNG 9928 on the B35 LTD.

I'm sorry but there is no need to extend the B1 to Staten Island. Period.
Don't worry about it. I was getting annoyed with all the arguing on the B36/B64/B74 crap.

Today, LRG and I spotted 4605 near the Staten Island Mall around 4PM this afternoon. It's unknown which depot the bus is in.
