I'm not disputing it being a good site, but you have no way of knowing that it's the cheapest land that they have access to. Politicians on SI had been pushing for a new depot for years and from my understanding they have been at least looking at another site for a depot or have been trying to work with the to secure another site for a 5th depot. Quite frankly there is a need for a 5th depot and it should be somewhere close to the SI ferry if possible.

I agree that there should be a 5th depot, but I don't think there is any place the could build it near the SI ferry terminal.

I would do the following

Normal Service

Lexington-125 street to Coney Island

Bay Ridge to 71 Avnue

Between Bay Ridge and Astoria

I don't think Bay Ridge-95 St would be able to turn both the and especially during rush hour.

4015 is at Yukon. Rode it on the S59 earlier and has YUK stickers. This was not a Castleton tripper.

It does lol, but I still prefer to purchase a new unlimited after my current expires so I have a brand new card. If I need to refill something, I just use a regular pay-per-ride card.

Well yesterday I refilled one of my Unlimited Express Bus Plus Metrocards at the Bryant Park station before catching the X12. When I dipped the card it say 02/09 "R". I guess the "R" stands for refill. This morning when I dipped on the X12, it said 02/16 with no "R" so that "R" is going to make all the world of the difference.

According to the MTA website, the "R" actually means "Renewed". But also suffice to call it refilled if that helps you.

Saw 9613 and 9383 on Nostrand av both with FB stickers.

 

Yesterday had problems with 3519's farebox. I had a 30 day unlimited and kept dipping the card in the box, but it still had that read error sign. Being in Queens I wasn't waiting another 20 min for the next bus to show and just got on. This is not fare beating, I used the unlimited on the other buses and had no problems including today. That same ride, 3 other people had read errors as well.

That's happened to me before. I think the fareboxes should be cleaned more often.

I think SI would have been better with the OG's rather than the NG's. I remember they tested 6421 and 6424 a while back.

Where do they use Orions at in Manhattan??? I mean I'm talking about the 6XXX like 6002 and such... Of course Casey Stengel uses them on the Q32, but even those seem cleaner and run better than the ones on Staten Island. And yes it probably is a Staten Island because those buses have been neglected inside and out. lol Still remember seeing buses with duct tape holding them together. lol

7069 and 7062 are at Castleton. Don't know if these moves were reported already.

4010 is at Yukon. Spotted it on the S94 at St.George with Yukon stickers around 5:10.

7086 is at Castleton. Seen on the S76.

4888 is in service. Seen it on the S53 earlier.

I just tracked 4873 in service on the S93 using Bustime.

Mostly likely because, I've been spotting ex-CAS hybrids on routes out of Yukon and Charleston. I'll keep a look out for more.

4008 is now at Charleston. Spotted this morning on the S78 at St. George and has Charleston stickers.

Those are at Spring Creek as we speak.

Oh, I see thanks for confirming that, because I saw one on the B43 just yesterday afternoon, but couldn't see the number. It was probably one of those 3 you mentioned.

No Orion 5's at JG.. ALL GONE!!! 580-610 set left early last year.

Some of the current C40's may be heading to E'Chester for scrapping/storage.

I believe 3999 is still there. Again using Bustime, I found it running on the S74 yesterday.

They are not retiring all 190 , they are just doing some of the lower 800's , 800 & 801 are the only 98 models . Most 800's that are being retired and some 900's they are going into storage at east Chester they will not be scrapped .

IMO, they should swap SC batch to come after WF, makes no sense for JG to have 200+ new buses before SC even gets one.

JG has about 190 or so C40's that need to be retired, plus the Orion V's they still have.

4008 is at Yukon. Spotted this morning in Bay Ridge on the S79 still with CAS stickers. 4010 I'm assuming is at Yukon too because it was on the S44/S94 and I discovered it using Bustime. It looks like Castleton might send their remaining NG's to Yukon.
