  1. Guess that settles that for the time being. I've also been told to go to DCAS and have my name restored in the letter I got the other night.
  2. Plus they usually give sign-on bonuses last I checked
  3. At this point, I don't care how long it takes now- it could be in the summer for all we know. I'm more worried about clearing up this error for the time being.
  4. I have to get in contact with them... I took the BOSS survey makeup earlier this month BUT they sent a letter dated 01/18/2019 saying I need to come in on February 6 to take it and restore my name on the list afterwards. I'm very confused. Called DCAS and lo and behold, I'm still on the list as of January 20. Sigh. Sent them an email for the time being. I'll have to see what numbers I can call to get in touch with someone. I'm a few numbers ahead of you... With the train shutdown thing not happening anymore things have slowed down tremendously.
  5. They aren't going to overlook you, they're gonna be calling names off the current established lists. The next exams most likely won't be established until maybe a year from now.
  6. You'd have to score in the upper 90s to get a good list number. I got an 87.50% on 7612 and my list number is in the low 500s
  7. I don't think we'll be able to find out that kind of information unless there's anyone currently in training who posts in here. I did see two training buses out of Jamaica in my neck of the woods the previous morning, though.
  8. Oh nice. They're starting people up now. Trying to line everything up for when they get to me.
  9. Any updates from anyone since last week? Seems like the thread died.
  10. Nope. My time will come eventually... I didn't leave till 7 PM that day
  11. That's pretty quick. It's going to be a while before they get to me. January 7th? Not bad. I was there that same day too. Longest day of my life.
  12. That makes a lot more sense. I was originally sent a notice to come in to take the BOSS back in July, but I could not make the date as I could not get that specific day off a week in advance due to being short on staff. I emailed the exams unit about other times to come take it but they say its only available on the first Wednesday of every month...
  13. I've heard if you have more than two accidents you were involved in on your abstract, that may affect whether or not you get in...
  14. As far as I've heard they're still finishing out the remainder of the last exam and will start this list once they're done. When I was there last week for pre-employment I overheard one of the clerks telling someone that it's been hectic in the employment office the past few weeks. I don't know what's going on regarding this but I'm going to assume that MTA is getting as many people processed as possible when the time comes so that they can start placing people in classes.
  15. I went in for pre-employment this past Tuesday and while waiting for my drug test met a guy who was taking his third drug test. He was called up for the conductor exam. I got that email today too. I'll have to see if they can accommodate me because I can't afford to take mornings off willy-nilly to get there by 10am. Best I could probably do is 11am due to the nature of my job. Missing Tuesday for pre-employment is already going to screw with my paycheck next week. Was seriously NOT expecting MTA to be calling up people so early and with such frenzy that you spend literally 11-12 hours in an office all day waiting!
  16. You only need an abstract if your license is out of state. They run your information during the process.
  17. Yeah I have the Non-Excepted Interstate on my CDL C. All you gotta do is keep a medical card current every two years by seeing your federally-certified medical examiner, which could very well be your PCP for all we know.
  18. I wasn't able to come in for that exam either due to job constraints but I still received my list number and all that. Not sure how that works...
  19. 11 points on your license is basically suspension. NYCT apparently only allows 4 at the maximum to be considered for hiring.
  20. 1. According to the NYS DMV, points aren't counted towards the 11-point total for suspension after 18 months from the date of conviction 2. According to the NYS DMV, the conviction remains on your driving record/abstract until January 1 of the FOURTH year following conviction. For example... I got a speeding ticket in August 2012. Netted me some points. By February 2014 those points don't count towards the 11-point total. On January 1, 2016, however, the entire conviction dropped from my record. If I go to the MyDMV page and sign in to see my license details, the points from that conviction are no longer there! Just make sure you paid all your tickets and be honest about them when asked because you won't be able to lie about them if they are still on your driving abstract.
  21. I'm surprised... According to the proposed answers I got 11 wrong. It's too bad I don't have the actual questions to go over them, but those last three certainly did not fool me...
  22. When I got my CDL C back in May 2016 pre-tripping was the least of my worries. Going for the B license upgrade soon to push the bigger school buses. Shouldn't be a problem.
  23. Most of the questions on that test were common sense questions. Just pick the one that deals with the situation best. You do get the chance to protest your answers come December...
