  1. Ah, we can't live without the going via Brighton, can we? @your situation: Trains run via the in both directions between West 4 St and Coney Island. The last stop on some southbound trains is Church Av or Kings Highway. Trains run via the between 59 St and 95 St in both directions. NEXT Due to track maintenance, the entire Eastern Pkwy line (local and express combined) can only fit 16 tph / direction.
  2. Seriously? Extending a 150-ft train is realistic? Especially considering that the headway barely meets demand as it is, you want to lower it further?
  3. Trains skip 72 St. I think 32 tph can work in this case because there are no stations on the express track there. NEXT Because of a police investigation, the Eastern Pkwy express and Brighton tracks are closed and impassable in the vicinity of 7 Av. The local tracks are fine. Reroute trains, keeping tph in account. Please avoid through-running or extending the ...it's not realistic.
  4. I had in mind to terminate the at Wall St - there is a crossover south of there (it's not shown on the track map). That would give people the one extra transfer to the at Fulton St.
  5. Yes. No service between 86 St and Brooklyn Bridge. The last stop on some southbound trains is 149 St. The last stop on some northbound trains is Bowling Green (wrong-rail via the loop to relay) or Wall St (use crossover). Runs via the in both directions between 149 St and Nevins St. No service south of 59 St. The last stop on some southbound trains is 86 St. No trains south of Hunterspoint Av. Passengers are encouraged to transfer at Queensboro Plaza to the . No peak express service. Use . Suspended obviously. NEXT Clark St is impassable. Challenge: you can introduce no more than one additional transfer for people who normally take the . Please take TPH into account. Wallyhorse: you can't fit the (60 tph) onto one track.
  6. The can go on 6 Av to Queens Plaza, with a walking / transfer between the two sections.
  7. No service between 96 and 14 St. No service between 96 and Chambers St. Suspended Extended to New Lots Avenue. No trains south of Hunterspoint Av Uptown trains stop at 72 St. Extended to Coney Island via Brighton Local. No trains between Whitehall St and 59 St/Lex. Transfer between sections via the . Suspended. Use service. Trains run via the from Atlantic Av to 47/50, then via the to 36 St (Queens). Suspended NEXT Canal St closed and impassable. The tracks are unaffected however.
  8. I doubt people would put up with this in today's world. Image credit columbia.edu
  9. No trains between Jay St and Euclid Avenue. Select trains relay via Bergen Lower Level if necessary. No service south of Chambers St/WTC. Trains either use the terminal or the middle track to reverse. No service south of Bedford - Nostrand. Increased service. The last stop on some northbound trains is Cypress Hills or 111 St. No service between 2 Av and Myrtle Av. NEXT All stations named 23 St in Manhattan are closed and impassable. The express tracks can be used normally, however. Affected: 23 St 23 St 23 St 23 St 23 St Take tph into account when rerouting.
  10. The would have to run via the on 4 Av, since + + + = 32 tph, which is over capacity. Well, they merge in one direction, and split in the other. PROSPECT PARK................./--------------------- PARKSIDE AV ------------------------------------/---------------------- ------------------------------------\---------------------- ..............................................\--------------------- Here's a rough sketch of the tracks used by the B and Q. The other tracks have been omitted.
  11. The express and local merge south of Prospect Park. The thing was probably only a few trains, not a long-term change. NEXT Because of a terror threat, all stations named Avenue U are impassable. Nearby express tracks are affected too. Impassable: Av U Av U Av U
  12. By just north, I meant the interlocking that leads into Coney Island. Couldn't the also turn at Bay 50th (Manhattan-bound platform)? And @trainguy: Brighton can't handle all on one track.
  13. NEXT West End and Sea Beach are both closed just north of Coney Island. Time: 3 AM Expected duration: 24 hours
  14. There are no R46s in CI Yard (the s are from Jamaica, no)?
  15. Art Vandelay has repeatedly stated that it would be 260 4-car sets, with no sources whatsoever. Since the idea makes no sense, I'll stick to the conventional 250 5-car sets idea.
  16. I guess the train is actually between 33 St and QBP. Therefore there is only one track open between 33 St and QBP, so trains have to single-track and terminate at QBP.
  17. Trains run via the in both directions between West 4 St and Jay St. Suspended. trains make local stops. No trains south of Canal St. The last stop on some southbound trains is 34 St - Penn Station. No service between Whitehall St (trains from 71 Av run via the ) and Broad St (trains from Met Av run via the ). Transfer at Canal St. Trains run to New Lots Av. Trains run local in Manhattan south of 42 St. No service south of 14 St. PS @ Wallyhorse: Why are you so obsessed with sending trains to the Transit Museum? Face it - they won't move all the trains (to where, anyway?) for a temporary disruption. NEXT Work at 7 Av and 53 St disrupts subway service. 7 Av/53 St is closed and impassable, and trains cannot go between 49 St and 57 St on the Broadway Line (assume trains can enter 57 St, but not use the switches south of the station).
  18. Just curious - what changed between 1959 and now? In 1959 (IIRC) buses ran every 2 minutes. Now, people are considering eliminating the route altogether.
  19. Good luck with the 600-ft , with 75-ft cars, to Metropolitan...
  20. PATH All services to 33 St suspended. (B) No trains south of 34 St - Herald Sq. No trains between 34 St - Herald Sq and 36 St. Trains run via the between Roosevelt Av and West 4 St. No trains between Broad St and 47/50 St. Trains run via 63 St and use the crossover south of 57 St. No trains between 8 Av and 3 Av. Customers advised to use A, C, G, J, M, and Z trains. No trains between 34 St - Herald Sq and 36 St. No trains between 34 St - Herald Sq and Whitehall St. (R) No trains between 59 St/Lex Av and Canal St. (C) Trains run express in Manhattan. NEXT Because of a blackout in the area, Fulton St station is closed and impassable. Affected: (C)
  21. Pay them and they will preserve all the cars you want. What the person was saying was that there does not appear to be a CI - (B'way) - 21 St program.
  22. What I don't understand is why not just terminate the at Jay during those times - they can use the crossover south of York St. It'll be cheaper because the runs less often than the .
  23. That GO is actually at all times - checking the timing, the never stops at those stations in that date range.
