Once again MTA screws over people south of atlantic avenue on Q train. This alleged construction is taking too long and the train to Coney Island never comes. So sick of this. f**k MTA. Wanna punch their executives in the face so hard. -

I heard they have electric outlets in M8s. Now I am pretty sure they dont, and even if they did it wasnt meant for the passengers to use, so anyone can confirm me on that?

It would be easier to just have the plant in New England or near DC or Upstate NY, Nearly all the orders come from Northeast anyway. And maybe Chicago. And rarely LA.

Well I wasnt referring to the push pull train sold to Metrolink. But in general. They make great trains. They built the KTX trains in Korea, not to mention good majority of the subways. I think companies like Rotem and Kawasaki has troubles because of the different sets of railroad regulations in US and in Asia.

Rotem did sell non-MU cars to LA Metrolink. Pretty flawlessly too. I hope MTA buys cars from Rotem. Rotem makes great trains.

Well its about time they replace M3s anyway. M3s are still serviceable IMO, but they need to be phased out before M2 situation occurs.

Seems to early to be ordering new designs of cars for LIRR. They still have M7s. Seems to me they could order more M7s instead. Would be more convenient for LIRR?

I would fall under both. Take it at least once a week to New Haven. Ah well, I guess I gotta pony up more and take Amtrak.

Penn Station can have trains running on catenary? Because when I took NJ Transit I think it went from 3rd rail to catenary.

If the entire NH line is electrified through catenary system why do they need a disel train to serve the line?

So basically they are modern version of M2? Whats wrong with 3rd rail? Why cant they use it in CT? Seems like a most convenient way for electric trains to operate.
