  1. But I read that Optimum loves capping people.... but I do hear that FiOS 1 out on the island is so godawful.
  2. I did love Cablevision back when Charles Dolan owned it. He has to step in and undo what his son is doing, though. I played Black Ops on wireless FiOS last night and my connection was still superb.
  3. New train operators usually take what they can get, right? I wouldn't feel right on a rush hour train if I heard that the train operator was fresh out of school car and is on his first day alone in the cabin. There was water in between the rails at Sutphin. I attributed it to the normal gunk that is in between the rails on the subway, but I thought it had something to do with the rain. I personally miss the old gibberish announcements on the SMEEs. Automated announcements are nicer on buses, but on the subway it's somehow nicer to hear a human voice, though garbled, than some recycled clip. On the platform at Jamaica, one of the service advisory monitors they always have something on had an error box on it and it seemed like they were pretending that no one would notice it.
  4. Is the to Brooklyn shorter than any other lines?
  5. lololol wii I didn't know subway cars had horns. This was until about last summer when I saw a picture of an R32 with the horn sticking out right above the T/O's window. I thought those were disconnected or didn't work.
  6. Well, ironic I see you hanging around TA members and have such an expanse of knowledge of the SMEE fleet, all but 20% of which is gone, and the subway's infrastructure, and yet have no official job in RTO. Same goes for SubwayGuy. "Oh, I took the O/C conductor's test and I'm going to be a conductor." You have a better chance of Pac and Biggie rising from the dead and releasing a mixtape, then dying again. Go ahead, run to Harry with your butthurt and see if I give a damn.
  7. I either am on the forums or on the chatbox. I tend to stay away from the members of those "museums" and their photos.
  8. I had 4 periods off in the 11th grade... 3rd to 5th, and 8th. I remember the first time I did I just went to the little outlet by my HS and chilled there. All the idiots that cut just for smoking [redacted] behind the Chinese restaurant didn't help.
  9. Ditto for any photos of any car(s) that isn't/aren't on TA property, even a yard or somewhere in the city. I'm sick of all those "trolley museum" photos. And their foamer members make me sick.
  10. I got a 91 and then my teacher ended up moving out east to Commack.
  11. *Cliche Accent should be the other way. My laptop lacks a number pad that allows you to enter the accented letters, so that didn't really do much. Stickler for people that fudge even the most basic of French phrases up, like "coup de grace" and how people try to sound smart by not saying the "s" sound at the end of "grace."
  12. So putting my laptop to sleep while a YouTube video is running causes YouTube to slow my entire browser down. I had to shut Firefox down and restart it twice and almost did it a third time before I found a stray YouTube tab. This is also one of the times I actually tried to study because my guide was online...I get one question in and have to wait 15 minutes just for my browser to catch a breath, and then another 10 for it to acknowledge me scrolling my mouse wheel one click.
  13. I tried to resize my N25 sign and I had to restart Firefox... and the 70 other tabs I have open.
  14. I have to credit INDman for the first, and SubwayGuy for the "Catch Bus to Corona" addition. If the LIRR thinks the subway is "safer because the tracks are underground," why was the still affected during the Christmas blizzard?
  15. Sorry, IRT, can you redo the N43 and N25 (to Great Neck) signs? They should look like the N20 SBS signs Yuki requested, minus the +Select Bus Service+ in the sign. N43 Freeport LIRR Station Via Uniondale Av Via Main Street N25 Great Neck LIRR Station Via New Hyde Pk Rd
  16. Fear my results, on wireless: Maybe this is a bad time for that; I do have quite a few tabs open and my XBox is on...
  17. Metro-North already has the M3As and all the ugly CDOT cars. The LIRR has been running the last of the M3s for years, and ran the M1s to the ground until they were all gone and the M7s took their place. The last time I was one, the conductor had to open and close the doors twice each station.
  18. I did a bit of snooping around and did find a Bee Line schedule with a few logos... Just note the "B" should be yellow rather than red. I'll let you know if there's a higher res logo.

  19. Everyone says, "Oh, there's the Internet for TV" when most outlets take down anything with a cable network logo in it in a heartbeat. If there's an official channel, 90% chance of a commercial beforehand... and it's probably going to be edited/different from the TV version. Seriously.
  20. Would've continued had she not gotten into trouble with that tape.
  21. I accidentally ripped the top of a bag of Goldfish a bit too much. If I leave it alone, they'll go stale, but if I eat them all and then my sister, who needs them for snacks for track, finds out, I won't really give a shit.
  22. The MTA bought some Orion Vs (and other buses) which used 4 number run boxes a few years back. This works to the advantage of whoever is operating a double digit route - they can display "2408" instead of just "248" if some operator is doing a Q24 run, for example. Otherwise, they either take one of the digits out or go ghetto and literally put paper over whatever number isn't needed.
