Hey guys quick question I was found qualified w the education and work exp w this letter..wat if I left my current job and didn't find sumthn for a couple months does that disqualify u as far as the work exp of 5 yrs they wanted TIA
No as long as you had the 5yr fulltime work exprience prior to taking the exam you are fine. When called you would have to just state the periods you are unemployed up until the point of the background process.

Maybe that class on the 27th will be just promotionals. I can't see the MTA processing anyone that fast. I'm in the 140 range on the O/C list so hopefully I'm in the first wave of letters that get sent out.

It's funny but now I've been check my mailbox every evening since I heard that their right around the corner from 8098.

I mean certified in that the MTA starts hiring from it. When you call the DCAS hotline it will state you are on an "outstanding certification". That means the city has handed over names to the MTA for hiring purposes.
What you mean mediccjh is that the list has been established which it was June 23rd 2010.
8098 hasn't been certified yet. I just called the DCAS number to check my list number and it is not on an '"outstanding certification" yet.

That's great news but the O/C list hasn't been certified yet so is it possible they can still call from it even if DCAS hasn't certified it yet?

Well that is pleasing to hear that they are close to the O/C list. If that is true maybe it's closer than I thought. I'm in the mid 100's. I was expecting maybe next spring I would be getting the letter to report to Livingston to start the hiring process.

Early this morning a little after midnight while waiting for Whiteplains Rd bound 2 train I was lucky to see a "not in service" R142 pass with a class of train operators (promotionals). Thier were about 6 of them crammed in the operators cab up front along with a few more sitting in the last car and 2 more in the rear operator cab. It was funny because I had a feeling that train was a school car because he entered the station very, very, very, very slow. Inched toward the 10 car marker stopped then proceeded out.
Man I cannot wait until the reach the O/C list......

i wanted to know if everyone on the list that passed teh exam got this letter or just people with low list #'s ....?????? My # is 480 something, not sure of the exact......i will feel a little better if only those below 1000 or 500 got one.........why would the city bother sending a letter out if they werent even close to hiring process (maybe within a year??). Any input on the higher that 500, 750 or 1000 list # and whether or not you got this letter would be appreciated......see all you guys at the train operator picnic one day!!! Good luck everyone !!!
If I remember my list # is 146 and I got the letter yesterday. (Can't find my Letter with the list number:p). I'll have to call the DCAS phone number.

I don't know about that.. they are more than half way through the promo list already. atleast it is a sign that the wheels are in motion down at DCAS and progress is in the works.
I have to agree with Duke. According to The Chief up in the 600's where notified for 100 train operator postions availiable. That leaves about 200 promotionals left on the list. A week later after reading that I get this notice that I meet the exprience/education requirments. Something must be starting to move.....

When I read the chief a week ago they said on the promotional that between list numbers if i remember in the 300's up to about 650 thier were 100 positions availible. So I am thinking they sent out letters to everyone in that gap which would leave about 200 and something left on the promotional list. If that is so that list will be done around mid Feburary. I was talking to train operator a few weeks back and he said a lot of conductors were turning down the job due to the fact they would lose senority in thier new title.

Got that letter today too. Seems like that should have been tested for once the letter about passing the test was done. Are there really people on the established list that will be disqualified at this stage?
That I can almost be sure of. I bet some who took the exam may not have read that one of the requirments was "must have 5 years fulltime job experience". It even said to if they are found not to have meet it there fee for the test will not be refunded.

Yeah same here. Was in the mailbox when I got home this evening. I thought they would have sent this out a while ago with the original notice that I passed the exam.

If that is the case I'm thinking next week they would have to certify the list hopefully.
