The (L) used to have "8 AV MANHATTAN" as its Western terminal before the R160s arrived, to which it was changed to 8 Av-14 St.

I also agree with you when you say there's no point in having shortened destinations when there is plenty of space for the name.

    Examples:

    (7) - 34-HUDSON (I would change it to 34 ST-HUDSON YDS)

    (7) - WILLETS PT (change to METS-WILLETS POINT)

    (7) - MAIN ST (change to FLUSHING-MAIN ST)

*better stated, ALL of the (7) train destination signs are needlessly abbreviated

*ANY ROUTE - KINGS HWY (why not type out HIGHWAY)

    (W) - 86 ST (change back to GRAVESEND-86 ST)

*I can be here all day, but one thing that does drive me up a wall is when I see routes and destinations misspelled (not abbreviated). We're not in First Grade. such misspellings include the rerouted (Q) via West End display of BRODWAY EXP, the (B) destination signs CENTRL PK W LCL

This is the smallest annoyance ever but the the one thing that triggers me is the signs that display LOC instead of LCL. I think they are doing it on the R142s.

Random - But I wonder why the R160s and R179 program lists the (C) northern terminal as 168 ST/MANHTN as opposed to WASH HTS-168 ST the way the R46 is coded. There isn't a 168 Street station anywhere else in the system, so why the MANHTN part?

I might be remembering this wrong but I swear I've seen some (C) trains that just say "168 St"

That might have been during the R160 swap with the (J)(Z) though I can't quite remember

    Current R160 assignments on page 14: https://erausa.org/pdf/bulletin/2020/2020-06-bulletin.pdf

Exactly what I was looking for. Wish it was easier to find this information. Although I'm starting to see that is isn't accurate myself because I know for a fact that the (E) is using some R160Bs, ***and I also just read the date was 2020***

Now if only I could find the programs...

  4. If this has been asked before, direct me to the respective thread.

I was wondering where we can view current R160 yard assignments, if they are available to the public that is. I know you can sort of see this information on Wikipedia, but there's really no distinction between the R160A and R160B assignments between the yards.

Also, is there anywhere that we can see the available NTT programs, I guess this goes for both the R160 and R179; I'm honestly curious to see what sorts of wild programs are out there. I've seen the K shuttle on some R179s, and have heard that some of them even have the V program. So if anyone knows where I can find this information, of if it's even available to the public at all, I'd be very grateful for your help.

If phase 2 costs $4.5 bill for just 3 stations, who knows how much it'll cost for a brand new (T) train??

That's why you want to do something like this in phases. Use the money you have to at least alleviate some of the overcrowding while you work on obtaining more of it. Someone above said the 2030s is when we'd start seeing the (T), and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the late 2030s.

With that being said, I'd anticipate a small rise in the fares to help shorten this timeline, and as more and more systems are being built, this makes the research / development and construction costs a little cheaper (not that much, but anything helps). Definitely helps to have the people on your side as well, if you can prove to them the additional line has a greater overall benefit to the system as a whole, this could help tremendously with funding. Wouldn't really bet on that option though.

    So the R211's will be used on the (A), (C), (E), (F), (G), (L), (J), (N), (Q), (W), and (Z) lines?

Don't see it happening with the (G), but the (A)(E)(F) are going to get them for sure due to overcrowding.

If they're in Jamaica I'd also expect the (R) and possibly the (M) to use them as well. Don't know if ENY will get them, seems like they're finally getting the R179s under control

  7. Was a mess on the (Q) today. We were delayed for 2 hours. Stuck at Church, Parkside, between Prospect and 7th, between DeKalb and the Bridge, and between 8 and 14 for a LONG time. Ended up having to re - schedule our train to Virginia. This is what I saw;

    (Q) via Broadway Local and VERY delayed

(B)(D)(N) via tunnel to Whitehall St

(B)(D) via Broadway Express to 57 St

They told us multiple times at Church Av downtown (B)(D) via 6 Av Local to 2 Av

and possibly some (B)(D) running up Culver or Sea Beach who knows... It was a mad house out there.

  8. There is a water main break along the QBL line from Jackson Heights to Forest Hills affecting (E)(F)(G)(R) and (M) and (7) service.

    Reroute!

I also don't see how the (7) would be affected.

Buses run between 65 St and Jamaica Center

    (E) Chambers St to Queens Plaza (Some trains via QBL Local to 65 St)

    (F) Coney Island to 21 / Queensbridge (Some trains via QBL Local to 65 St)

    (F) Shuttle Union Turnpike to 179 St (Trains skip Van Wyck and Stuphin Blvds)

    (G) No Changes

    (M) Metropolitan Av to Chambers / Broad St

    (R) 95 St to 65 St

  9. New situation (actually a variation of the last one):

Broken switches and rails make the Chambers Street (E) terminal unreachable, though it does not effect the tracks and platform that goes through to the Cranberry Tunnel

At the same time, the switches at Broadway-Lafayette are in a position so trains can only operate to/from the Broadway-Brooklyn line from the local tracks there (trains coming from Essex are unaffected by this).

These will take 8-10 days to fix.

    (A) via 8 Av Local

    (E) to Chambers St via 8 Av Express

    (F) via the (A) between W4 and Jay St

    (M) via Nassau to Chambers / Broad St

  10. Well I have no updates lol. I haven't played Trainz in a while because I don't have a suitable computer to play it on.

Same here lol. The last time I logged into Trainz was about a year ago or so. The game keeps crashing, I get content errors on every train except for the pre GOH R46, guess I just gave up on getting the stuff from trying to work.

Did try out a lot of the tunnel stuff though, been a while since that came out, but it looks and plays really nice.

  11. Something that another Admin from BDC Projects posted on, and something I am fully aware of, and support. I know this issue has been addressed before, but: A) It has gotten worse, and B) This admin has a better way with words than I did the first time around. Maybe I was too forward and aggressive, but I share this admin's concerns and I think this is the right step. This is NOT meant as a knock to those of you guys who are dedicated members/fans. I looked at each of the member names personally, and though some of you fell outside the 30 day rule, your support kept you in. I really want BDC Projects to become a place where we can all convene, and while I have my role in this situation (not being around as often because of work), I will work to make the site better and more enjoyable for everyone.

New pics will be posted there and on this thread in the coming days!

I can't access content anymore because I no longer have Trainz on my computer, and believe me Ace, I would love to get some posts up there now and then, but I have forgotten what my password is. But I agree, you need to start cracking down on the people who are just there for the downloads. It is kind of hard, and you don't really see a lot of posts over there, like someone did say. Maybe the best idea is to switch over to payware content like Magicland had.

  12. @Brighton: I spoke to BStyles a few weeks ago---he's doing well, still shipped out in the Navy. He was back here in NYC for a month or so and did some texture grabbing. He's working on a really good R62A model for OpenBVE that he's hoping to convert to Trainz and release soon. The scripting department within BDC Projects is looking at ways to have the rollsigns change individually like their real life counterparts. Also, a shell for the R160 has been completed by Mikey186 from Auran (another BDC-er), and Randy from OpenBVE Connection is supplying us with the textures necessary for that model; Randy has done some excellent work on NTTs for OpenBVE over the last year or so.

That's all I got right now. Rolling stock is not my forte, and I haven't had the time to really sit down and learn the ropes. Instead of going balls to the wall and try to learn everything myself, I've helped assemble a great team of developers with varying strengths so that something is always being worked on. I've got my scripters (Mikey & Vaughn), my sound guys (several openBVE guys and Daniel), my texture person (Shomari), my Sr Content Developer who specializes in 3DS Max and is miles ahead of me (Jon Hull), and of course the big man himself Styles, who dabbles in a little bit of everything, but whose forte is rolling stock and being the only (AFAIK) cross-developer who's very proficient in openBVE & Trainz. I'm more of a signals/little tiny details/route building expert over anything else. I develop small items, but the big things that require scripting and such---I merely front ideas lol.

Awesome Green, I knew you would never let us down. Keep up the good work man.
