  1. Man this is so annoying. They take the (W) off, and now the (N) from the Broadway Express, and they keep piling up in the (Q) train, I can barely find a seat on the way home. I believe that there needs to be some kind of rush hour help on the Broadway Express, because I see countless (N) and (R) trains running empty in both directions, and I see either the uptown or downtown (Q), depending on the time of day, full to the brim.

The problem even extends out into Brooklyn. I remember the days where the train would just drain out at Church Av. But that's not the case anymore. Most people are getting off at Cortelyou Rd now, and the train is about halfway full from there. I think there needs to be some kind of peak service on the (Q), because the Broadway Express needs more trains during rush hour!

One way I see to solve this problem would be to turn some (Q) trains at 57 St. The countless (Q) trains I see passing 14 St that are going to Astoria is very frustrating, as the platform gets even more and more full. Maybe even bring back the <Q>to 57 St, but have it run Local in Brooklyn. I hope that the CBTC gets installed on the (Q) soon, there are literally thousands of trains on the (L) one behind another, and the service flows so smoothly. But bottom line, the (Q) needs to make some more short turns, or get more service during rush hour.

  2. I don't see a Second Avenue Subway connection to the Manhattan Bridge as possible. The services on the bridge are working just fine and it would congest the tracks on the bridge. A better idea which I have mentioned before to connect the (T) to Brooklyn is just to axe Phase 4 or to build it later on and to connect the (T) to Houston Street on the (F) line. That way the (T) can run onto the Culver Line via the Rutgers Street tunnel.

I'm not going to lie here, I actually kind of like that idea of sending the (T) along Culver. Then who knows, you might even see that Culver Express come back  :D . They were fixing up the tracks on the viaduct, no? But nice suggestion Roadcrusier, even though this is probably never going to happen, I really think it is a pretty good idea. Maybe if this came through you could use the Culver as some sort of rush hour service.

But then again, like I said about building a 2 Av - Manhattan Bridge connection, is the demand on Culver high enough for not only normal service, but in another case, rush hour, to have the (T) going down there? Remember 2 Av is a pretty quiet place, and the only reason the line is there is to ease off the heavy crowding on Lexington.

  3. I'm going to clarify my position to say that the (Q) will turn off the Manhattan Bridge onto Second Avenue, taking it off the Broadway Line entirely. This is assuming that the MTA is broke as hell when Phase III or IV is completed.

I don't see it either. I mean the idea sounds great, but the 2 Av service isn't really for 2 Av, it's just to ease the load on the (4)(5)(6)<6>. Those trains run in Brooklyn already, easy transfers from Franklin Av (S) and Atlantic Av. The cost would be overwhelming to construct something like this anyway, and I am sure Brighton has a much higher demand for the extremely active Broadway than the relatively quiet 2 Av. I really think this is about the main purpose of what the line is for.

  4. I've recently been having a problem with the R32s. The rollsign and flipdot moves when I use the operation controls (i.e. q a z < > ?) rather that the usual 2,8,9, and 0. Does anyone know what causes this glitch and how I can fix it?

    -Nick

Do you have a mac? If so, the rollsigns don't work. Apparently Windows has this specific plugin that mac does not have, and this enables those controls to work, and not the ones on the mac. Some of them work, but some don't just depends on the plugin.

  5. Come to think of it Green, if you guys made some updated trains that were really accurate, the MTA might consider using your routes to train their trainees. I know they have the R142 simulator, but this would be really helpful for up and inspiring MTA T/Os and C/Rs to get to know the subway firsthand. OpenBVE could do it too, but they don't update their things nearly as fast as you do.

  6. Finally got to downloading the EL pack yesterday, great job Green. Sorry if you have seen me on AIM and I didn't respond, that is because I have 2 computers, and one just never logs off it for some reason. Hope to see the signals soon and I get my computer fixed so I can play Trainz, because they look great!!!

  7. You have as much right to request as anyone else... I don't know your definition of greedy, but I haven't been spamming the thread and begging for signs. Purposefully thread derailing...

Not to get into this but he has a point Threxx, you do request a ton of signs and for what reason? I have no idea, and I don't want to know.

As far as this matter goes, R188 7857 I think you should set a request limit on your thread, 1 per 2-3 days seems pretty reasonable to me.
