  1. As I was on the (C) this morning I decided to take a peek of the operating cab out of boredom. Sure the train was moving but the speed meter just read "0". I know that "back then" many m/m had no other choice but to operate by feel and many do today but wow...

lol, that reminds me of the time I was looking into the cab of a NB R46 (R) train Court St-Whitehall Street. The spedometer was all whack. When he was going ~25 MPH in the tube, it read 0. When he was going really slow entering the station, it read 98.

~1 & 1/2 hours until it is officially Court Square-23 Street!!

  2. What's up with the 142A's? I went on a trip to the Metro Museum of Art, as we were heading back the "This is a..." and "The next stop is..." announcements were played a few seconds before the opening of the doors.

Its the weird programming. Several times Ive heard the announcement play with the doors closed. Usually at 59 street it happens. This is what happens:

"...By walking to the lexington Avenue-63rd Street Station, and *Doors open* using your metrocard." *Long Pause* "Stand Clear of the closing doors please." *Doors close* *train starts moving* "This is a bronx bound (4) express train. The next stop is 86 Street".

I know once it did something really weird (I was on an R142A (5) train). Here was the announcement:

"This is: 59 Street. Transfer is available to the (6)(N)(Q) & (R) trains. A free-" *ding* "Stand clear of the-"

apperently the conductor was trying to cut off the Free Transfer to the (F) train part of the announcements, and it got jammed and played the closing doors message (when the train was still in motion).

    ----------------------------

I'm trying to sort out the car moves/swaps that are happening now:

    -R68's go to the (G)

    -R46 from (G) go to (R)

-R160's off the (R) () and sent to Coney Island

-Extra CI R160's bump off '68A's from the (N)

-those R68A's go to the (:P

-some R68's are taken off the (:P to go to the (G).

    (loops)

The only thing I'm upset about is the R160's off the (R) part. The only line I like the R160's on is the (R), since there are so few of them on the (R) and not a million of them on every other line ((E), (F), (J), (L), (M), (N), (Q), (Z)).

Also some R46 MIGHT go the (F), as I was told.

  3. On the newer buses (i.e. the Orion VIIs and the Novabus LFSAs) there are announcements when the doors open and close. I know when the doors close the announcement is "Doors Closing", but for whatever reason I can't really make out the announcement when the doors are opening. Does anyone know what it is?

"Touch Yellow tape to open doors".

9871 is the greatest CNG bus ever! if anybody has rode it, that Motor sounds great!

also, 3607 got repainted not just with the old scheme, but with the NYCT scheme!

Theres a difference between the OG MTA bus & NYCT bus schemes; the MTA bus one has more black paint around the back door (on the exterior), while the NYCT buses have white there. 3607 has white!!!

  4. Cuz they know that you like that bus so they did to to see your reaction :P

actually because I think these buses have been stopped being repainted with the new scheme. Alot of buses out of LGA have been getting repainted, but only 4 have the new scheme.

btw I remember a few months ago someone photoshopped an RTS with the new scheme... I forgot who.

  5. People piss in the subway daily. If their urine comes in contact with the live rail (otherwise known as the third rail which carrys electricity) as he/she is urinating, it's game over for that person.

Thats not true. Urine doesn't come out in a straight form, when it leaves your body the droplets seperate so its not possible. If anybody ever watched mythbusters, you'd know what im talking about.

I think that might be the episode, not sure ^^.

  6. the Norwood G.O. for the (D) on Tuesday never happened! :(

    (D) trains were supposed to run in 2 sections:

Norwood-205 St - to - Bedford Pk. Blvd

Bedford Pk. Blvd - to - Coney Island

I got there at 1:30 and everything was running normal. I guess the (MTA) website lied.

But the Avenue X (F) G.O. did happen, I got some announcements.

  7. 133 doesn't have a new scheme...just a new face lol. From the front, it looks exactly like a NYCT Orion V

I know, ive seen it. I actually said it was a dream, not for real ;)

They started putting ads on the new NGs. It does look a bit weird on the front, with nothing under it.

Are you talking about those NG's I saw on the B49 that had ads on the back saying "Bus lanes are for buses. Are you a bus?". I've been seeing alot of those, they look weird especially with the Arial Font numbers on the back.

btw every bus out of LGA now has the new "plane" programming for the front of the bus. (For windows 7 veiwers, you can see the "plane" symbol here):

    ✈Q72 LAGUARDIA AIRPORT

    ✈Q72 CENTRAL TERM

    ✈Q72 VIA JUNCTION BLVD

All buses have it EXCEPT the Orion V Ex-Bees :(.

  8. 3620 from LGA has the new scheme! I saw the bus yesterday but didn't get a chance until now to tell about it. So far 3612, 3614, 3619 & 3620 all have the new scheme. Im still keeping an eye out for more LGA new schemers.

btw I had a dream a few nights ago that Ex Bee-Liner #133 had the new scheme. It was weird ;).

  9. Wirelessly posted via (BlackBerry8520/5.0.0.900 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

They changed the programming on the (M) train. It doesn't say JAMAICA LCL anymore but it now says MYRTLE AV LCL

This is due to the renaming of the Court Square-23 St Station.

I caught 8432 still w/ "JAMAICA LCL" on it, and it still says 23 St-Ely Avenue.

  10. South Ferry was only done once, after some confusion during a (4) G.O. There was no train to Brooklyn, but I never knew that and slept. When I woke up, I hear a sharp turning noise and see S.F. Went to Fulton, got on train to Brooklyn.

are you sure you didn't pretend to fall asleep then jumped up and took a million pics of the SF station? B)

  11. Anybody knows how often the wallpaper on the 42nd St Shuttle is changed?

LMAO Im dying B). Its called Ad wrap, & no I dunno.

    ++++++++++++

I caught 2 R142A's on the (5) today! due to the (5) not having any access to E 180 St yard, the (5) had to use cars from the (4), & used R142/A's from the (4) ending up resulting in an Rare R142A (5) train.

And also, another random thought: the 23rd, (J) Prospect Pk shuttle is back. Hopefully they will run some R42's on there .

  12. I agree.

Another places that perfect for Horror Movie/Story:

    Abandoned platform at Hoyt-Schermerhorn (A)(C)(F)

At Grand Central, west end of Flushing Line platform and Grand Central Mezzaine, with gate that seem like scary.

    The (F) doesn't stop at Hoyt-Schermerhorn, only the (A)(C)(G).

tho the (F) does stop there during G.O.'s...

I wonder when the next G.O. (F) to Euclid will be...

and oh yeah!, did anybody go to Transit Tech High school here?
