  1. A One Shot-GT Enjoy!!!!! More to come later tonight -A
  2. Thanks for the kind words. All signals will be featured in my pack. I will have to get outside help for the timers. There is a rule on the dls where you can set a signal to a certain indication. Look up " set signal to" on the dls. Should be there
  3. I've been getting A LOT of help from BStyles over the last few days with texturing in Sketchup and I have started work on my custom NYCTA signals. Originally I was going to supplement Magicland's set, but I decided to make an entirely new pack under my name. Most signal types will be included (ST, GT, combo ST-GT, dwarf, yard, home, marker, automatic, two lens, no bottom green, no bottom yellow, et. al.) Anywho, here is my first signal, a normal automatic Enjoy! It feels good to be a content creator officially now! -A
  4. Thanks for the info! It really depends on what program people feel comfortable with. Personally, I prefer Sketchup.
  5. For those who are working with Google Sketchup and GMax, I have found a program (with some help over on the Trainz forums) that has drastically changed my hopes for building custom content. It's called ModelConverterX and you can get it here Pretty much, it does what it says--converts models. If you don't have the $495 or so for Sketchup Pro, you can use this to convert your .dae files from sketchup into usable .3ds files for GMax. This is for people like me who are afraid of GMax for big projects (although I just completed an awesome tutorial and have a SMALL understanding of GMax finally!). I can simply go to town on Sketchup and build awesome stuff---put it in MCX--boom, converted and ready for texturing in GMax. I hope this helps those who were like me and were weary of content creation because of GMax. Now, this doesn't replace the need for knowledge of GMax--you still need to know how to do textures and all that stuff (attachment points, etc if you're doing signs or signals, et. al). However, it does speed up the process for building content. Glad I could help and it's great that I can share this with everyone. -A
  6. Uptown Manhattan is coming along guys, I finished signalling from 59th to 110th on the CPW line, I just have to name them and fix the switches. Btw, I looked for the kuid number of the Auran-installed lever in my kuid table for my subway route and could not find it, even after checking several times. Any idea where it could be? I agree with the notion to change the config file as opposed to changing the switches by hand. Also, thanks to an AWESOME tutorial on GMax (meaning I could actually comprehend it), I successfully completed my first object--just a simple house. I might be creating some custom content in the future---more than just rollsign re-skins :eek:B). Be on the lookout for updates. Depending on what my schedule is like, expect pics of the Uptown lines (Broadway and Lenox) by Saturday or Sunday. Also, I know that I already posted pics of the Lenox Yard awhile back, but those were from an old route that got deleted. -A
  7. Yes, I will use the config file to change the switches. I already have hundreds of switches laid out, and changing them by hand would waste time that could be used to make progress on the route. By the way, I heard that if you simply change the trainz build number in the config file of newer content, it allows it to be used in older versions. Has anyone verified this? And thanks again for all of your kind words and suggestions!! Uptown Manhattan comes your way tomorrow! -A
  8. Updated route map is the same except we're at 39th Avenue on the Astoria line and 36th St on the QBL. Enjoy these shots!! Flushing 123??? Roosevelt Island Queensboro Plaza Looking towards the west at Queens Plaza (RFW from an train) I really like how this one came out. These are the portals going to the Steinway tubes. I will add the LIRR yards later on. Interlocking south of 36th St connecting the QBL to the Diamond 4 returns!!! (For Rick44 as proof that I have his video waiting!) Diamond 4 rollsign 63 St upper. Wall on the right hides the Broadway tracks Cab view of the connections from QBL to the More Els!! 39th Ave on the looking south Enjoy! -A
  9. Hey BStyles, are those trains going to have the option of changeable rollsigns? Jaleel's R143 is really starting to cause tons of problems in TRS2006--and I know I'm not the only one itching for a new car! Awesome work, keep it up!
  10. I've been working a lot lately, so I haven't had time to get pictures up. I'm still at Queensboro Plaza in Queens and only Downtown Brooklyn. Pics up on Wednesday.
  11. Duly noted, sir. I think that his el/subway stations pack is amazing for what it is, and his pillars, etc. I really don't have any issue with his material, just that the tracks and tunnels are simplistic. But, I utilize all of his stations, bridges and pillars on my routes, so his work is greatly appreciated. IMO, his station pack surpasses Magicland's in that there is a great deal of variation, both in configuration and lengths (they're split between 10-car lengths for Div A and Div . So, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful for Jeff's content. Without it, my route would be lame. So, thanks Jeff! Also, I FINALLY got TS 2009 SP3 working after a million attempts on my new laptop, so I'll be utilizing Ish6's reskins of Jeff's items in my route. Luckily, I only constructed maybe 6 el stations before the release, so I won't have to replace much. If and when work slows down, I *will* post pics guys. I apologize for the delay B) -A
  12. I agree---Jeff Morris' stuff is simplistic, but it gets the job done for those who don't want detail in their routes.
  13. Hehehe It was meant to be a gross exaggeration. Good to see you here on the forums Jamal! Anyway, in reality it was maybe 10 minutes...just of trying to straighten everything out and make it look pretty. The German U-Bahn stuff is easier to work with. I will *try* to get pics up by the middle of the week. I've been swamped lately guys! But, the Astoria line is done to 39 Av, the QBL is done to 36 St (with connections from Queensbridge), the from Court Sq to Qns Plaza, and the is done to the switches west of Rawson-33rd.
  14. Not going to use the Russian stuff for anything besides long tunnels...I've found that using the objects/splines/tracks/tunnels is more of a PITA to get them right than using mcq's subway kit. Doing 23 St/Ely to 36 St, with the Queens Plaza interlocking shouldn't take one more than an hour. So, I reverted back to mcq. The East River tunnels and some interlockings on the 53 & 60 St tunnels are done in the Russian style...pics later!
  15. I'm assuming that these will not be TRS2006 compatible unless you release a CDP somewhere other than the DLS?
  16. @R32s, thanks for the offer on the rollsigns. I'm quite good at it though, thanks! And...I started western Queens last night . I had to recalculate the distances between the East River tunnels based on a post from the forums about tunnel lengths...so it allowed me to use the Russian tunnel stuff that 2TrainMaster uploaded. It totally blows mcq's stuff out of the water!:eek::eek: So, for all of what I have completed aside from Queens, it will be the German U-Bahn tunnels and tracks. The rest of my layout for utilize the Russian stuff. HUGE THANKS again for those awesome uploads. I'll post pictures tonight once I finish the Queens/Queensboro Plaza complex and Astoria lines. -A
  17. Thanks for the clarification BStyles. I have always put my tunnels right above the water level. I think that Andi06 has some waterproof tunnels, I have yet to try them out yet.
  18. I used the AJS Subsurface Columns Concrete for the roofs. It's by paulzmay on the DLS. He has the following: AJS Subsurface Columns (they're greenish) AJS Subsurface Columns Red AJS Subsurface Columns Concrete (used for the tunnels more than 4 tracks wide, otherwise I use the MUS Pfeiler) For the floor, I just used the texture BallastDGrey, it's built-in since 2006. It looks 99% similar to the tunnel floors. You can hardly notice it. Btw, are those river tunnels waterproof? Can I submerge them?
  19. It looks to be 2010. I'm glad that I gave you those UTun objects. Don't they make it look wonderful? By the way, I uploaded your video (Gorgor) to my computer, all that needs to be done is putting on my photobucket.
  20. Holy sh*t that is the most beautiful thing I've seen! hahaha :cool: Amazing BStyles! Btw, to answer a question: I will not be including PATH in my layout. If BStyles would like to collaborate, we could use each other's 6 Av portions jointly. It's really up to him. But, it will be strictly a subway layout.
  21. BStyles, check your inbox in about five minutes. I just had an idea for another project. I'm an idea man!:tup:
  22. Are these part of a larger pack? Also, I was wondering if they are built to Division A or Division B lengths?
  23. Hey everyone, Just wanted to post a few pictures of my progress in downtown Brooklyn. I'll save the progress report map for significant expansions. Right now, as I'm typing this, the has been built to the connection with the south of the Atlantic Av station. The Flatbush Av IRT/BMT tunnel has all six tracks built (Atlantic Av built). Also, the to Pacific St has been built as well. The next project is finishing the Astoria El to Ditmars, and getting the complex done at Queens Plaza. will only be built to 21 St-Van Alst. The 63 St tubes will be built to south of the junction at 36 St/Northern Blvd. Here ya go.... A set of R68s at DeKalb Av DeKalb Av platform view Cab view of abandoned Myrtle Av station and X-116. Bumper for track M south of IRT Nevins St X-86, straight to Brighton, diverge to 4 Av IRT Atlantic Av express platform view (looking north) This interlocking and signals were a PITA to do! No choice of routes on these double- and single- slips because the levers get in the way. -A
