  1. Here are some new screenshots of the Signs package that I completed this weekend, they will be available on MediaFire by Friday--so check back for a link! And before anyone gets crazy, the too-big font on the diverging speed sign, and the "20" being too close to the "MILES" on the tunnel sign HAVE been fixed already. So, no nitpicking, k?. Plus, I know that OPTO signs are not mounted to the floor in subway stations, but I included it to show the different versions. Below is a list of what signs will be in the content package. Each will have THREE different variations: Outside Right-Hand, Outside Left-Hand, and Tunnel (RH only). The ones with an asterisk next to them and bolded are NOT renameable. Also, the ST/GT combo sign will show both speeds as the same. I had to do this because with the script, if I make each one changeable, it'll have to be placed in the session layer, otherwise it will reset itself each time you re-open your route. It's a pain in the ass with the BART MP's right now that I'm trying to resolve. So, Signs List: Car Stop Sign (blank) Car Reverse Sign (CAR printed on bottom. For reverse moves) **4/6 Car Stop Sign **8/10 Car Stop Sign Diverging Speed Sign (D on top) GT Speed Sign (GT on top) GT/ST Speed Signs (GT/ST on top of their respective signs) **OPTO Stop Sign Resume Speed Sign (R on top) Speed Limit Sign (MILES on bottom) ST Speed Sign (ST on top) **Time Control "T" Sign Any questions, feel free to ask. -A
  2. Routes are not being released right now, for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it's incomplete, and secondly, I'm not sure if I'm going to release the full system as a route, or do the routes a la BVE (A)(C)(E) as one route, (B)(D)(F)(M) as another, etc etc. Also, with the upcoming releases of my official signals package (replacing the betas), signs set, and stations/objects set, my route development has stopped for the time being. Keep an eye on the Simulators section of the forums for all the details--that's where all announcements will be posted.

  3. They will just function as trackside signs since they are renameable. Because of that you will have to put invisible speed signs. Also the car markers with "car" underneath them are only used for reverse car movements on tracks used for layups. Those will be included as well. Normal car stop signs only have numbers
  4. I am in charge of the signs for the NYCTA as well---so I will be making signs that will be both tunnel mounted, ceiling mounted (OPTO & Car Stop signs only), and right and left hand versions of the signs for the el/surface portions. That project has been put on the back burner for now. If there is enough demand for it, I can move the project up and have the signs made and released by the end of the weekend. As it stands though, the stations take precedence because I know everyone is dying to see the finished products. Also, I haven't gotten any word from my friend on the timers yet. He's been busy working on some other projects.
  5. Gaps have been fixed on the 1T and 1T One Wall subway stations/end pieces: 1T One Wall station--used here to simulate an "off-center" station: 1T Station: at 1T offset station: Since the A & B Division Cars are different widths, calculating the overhang to close the gaps was challenging...I did get it right up to the B-Div cars, but there is still a teeny gap for the A Division, but not enough to cause a fuss. I think you'll agree. Gap Check Gap Check Tunnel view of off-set platforms A & B Division gap check. An R46 attached to redbirds?? Only in fantasy land folks B) Now, because of the gap issues, all of the stations have to be re-done in skp and in gmax. So, let's celebrate 2 sets of stations/objects successfully in game. Now I've only got 22 sets to go! Oh, and in addition to the 16 that were listed before, after some research 8 more configs have been added to the list: 1T Abandoned Station 2T Abandoned Station 3T Abandoned Station 4T Abandoned Station (^local station set ups) 2T Abandoned Station #2 Old South Ferry Loops, one abandoned platform, one "in-service" 2T Wide Station- Classon Av on the inspired this. Basically a 3T with no middle track and double pillars...but since it's only using 2T, it's 2T! Will feature a different paint scheme than its 3T cousin. And two more 4 Track Versions: 4T Island #2 Station 96th St 4T Island #3 Station Chambers St They look similar, but they aren't! Next up--we are finishing the 1T stations! New 1T Bypass and 1T Abandoned Stations will be shown tomorrow night! Enjoy! -A
  6. Chugging along slowly, but surely! 2T Platform View 2T Tunnel View, blue lights and marker signal! Once I fix the tiny error with the third rail being too close to the platform, the next layouts are the 2T Island, and the 2T Island One-Wall Variant (Union Sq and 42 St ) -A
  7. ...the title says it all. Pretty much BStyles and I have a joke that the content gods do not want me to release anything of stunning visual value to the Trainz community. This is why my signals took so long to be released--they took only a week or so to build, but between texture problems, reverse faces oriented the wrong way, measurement oversights, attachment point issues, textures being the wrong size, GMax crapping out, and good ol' CMP being a douche, a quick project turned into a two-month one. Anywho, the content gods decided to unleash their wrath on me with the 1T Bypass Station. All attachment points were fine--but then, all of the above problems occurred again--until the culprit was found. The objects and splines were 0.08m off in width. That's right---a measly 13.00m for the end pieces compared to 13.08m for the spline. So, after figuring that out after two dozen tries...I finally present to you, in game, the 1T Bypass Station! Platform View Bypass Track View This is good news! The bad news is now I have to sift through 30+ more objects/splines to avoid the all-nighter that has occurred here. So, I will try try try to have these released by Friday. Don't hold your breath...unless you want to pray to the content gods and make sacrifices on Auran's altar so that this project actually goes off without a hitch.....which I'm sure it won't. -A
  8. Right now they're still being made, but I'm rotating between different projects every few days to avoid burnout. I was working on those stations and signals for two straight weeks, and got a little tired. So, I shifted my attention this last week to my BART asset set, and now I believe I'm ready to shift back to the NYC side of things. Right now, all of the splines are working flawlessly in game. It's just the end pieces for the stations--that's what's holding up the release. I think it would be silly to release the splines but not the end pieces, so they're going to be released together. I do apologize for the delay--but sometimes, life just gets ya, and you have to focus on that and put the modeling aside for a few days. When the objects are working, I will post pictures first, then announce a release date. Oh, and these are for TRS 2006 and above---I don't use TRS 2006 anymore because it's become a real PITA with the newer content (at least personally), so they would look good in TS 09, 10 or 12. But, because I know there are still some die-hard 06 fans out there, I made it compatible for 06. -A
  9. Lookin' good B!:tup::tup: Also, to let everyone know, the station end pieces are still giving me some trouble with the attachment points, so the release has been delayed until Thursday or Friday at the earliest. -A
  10. Other projects are at the top of the priority list right now--I'll definitely try to get to it soon.
  11. Just some screens from playing around tonight-- 4T Island Station & Tracks!! The 9-headed home signal I referenced in a thread on the main forums the other day. This is showing to proceed on the main route, with the next signal being a 2-shot GT that hasn't been cleared yet (hence the "S") Same 9-head signal, with my custom GT speed sign on the left And the following three pictures are somewhat tragic...this is why you shouldn't key by signals! Thankfully these trains were empty, heading for the yard. The TO was in a hurry--nobody was seriously injured! Enjoy! -A
  12. We are out-doing ourselves here bro! -A:cool::cool::cool:
  13. The gap is due to my laziness in creating a mock-up scene at four in the morning, . The gap depends on how close you place the track to the platform, and since I was building this quickly, I didn't do a very good job of checking myself! And, check your inbox for a PM--I'll help you with signals!
  14. A few more for your eyeballs! (I have a box of spares for those whose spontaneously combust) I hope you all enjoyed and look forward to its release! -A :cool:
  15. Here are more--highlighting the different layouts and an off-set Station example (think of the between Canal St & Union Square) And different configs: And a last batch [:eek:] below this one! -A
  16. After a grueling process of double-, triple-, and quadruple checking these assets with the help of BStyles---not to mention numerous PITA moments with GMax, IM Viewer, and small errors in re-naming texture files---after all that--the new subway station splines are finished, and I must say they look better than I could have ever expected. I'm running TS2010, but the realism blows me away when I looked at them a second time in 2006. I will work on the end-pieces tomorrow, so the entire set (splines and end-pieces) will be available Monday or Tuesday, depending on my schedule, so stay tuned. A HUGE thanks to BStyles for all of his help when my computer didn't feel up to the challenge. Along with my signals, and B's tracks, this will definitely up the realism on your subway/el routes. After the end pieces are complete, I will be working on trackside signs for the subway! All shots below are from TS2010. Enjoy! First set is of the 1T Bypass (found on ( CPW & Eastern Pkwy) And two shots of DeKalb Avenue: More Shots below! -A

  18. He has already clarified that he is NOT going to be making the elevated trestle pack for Trainz 2004. So if you want to get the package, upgrade to 2006 or a newer version.
  19. Probably someone who has a super old or crappy laptop. 2006, and even 2009/10 can run on a decent laptop nowadays (I have all three running on my Win7 Gateway with a Radeon 4250). Btw, I may have announced this in Dmouse's thread, but a Beta version of my signal package will be available tomorrow evening. I will start a thread before the release for anyone to post suggestions and [] criticisms! I will take it in good stride since the project has been done for a few weeks. -A
  20. Okay, let's get one thing straight. There's a difference between constructive points and nitpicking at every little detail. I'm not meant to be a jerk, but it does get annoying that with almost every post of content or WIP, someone says "do this", or "do that". I don't mind friendly criticism, if you've seen the requests from my signals---I'm very welcome to that. I'm sure you'd be upset after pouring hours and hours into content, you get a "can you change this please?" That's what got me upset. I will not take my content and leave the community over a friendly suggestion---but constant nagging is another issue. Whether or not my annoyance impacts what others think of me isn't a concern to me. I like to think I've been a fairly friendly person. I will let my content speak for itself and determine my image in the community.
  21. BStyles beat me to the punch, but since the nitpicking has been about my content--let me say what's on my mind. The reason that I haven't released the signals yet, is because I am trying to make them as realistic as possible to avoid nitpicking like what's been going on the past few days over my stations, and BStyles' track splines. I have worked non-stop on these stations for the last week and a half, and I am trying my hardest to make them as easy to use as possible. I was looking out for everyone else when I wanted to reduce the number of objects in the pack from 45 to 30. I figured if I double the spline length and add in the stairs and benches---it would make station building a lot easier. With that being said, this is the last warning that I am going to issue about nitpicking--please, DO NOT nitpick over any screens I post. You may ask questions but do not make asinine suggestions that will require more work from me. I am doing this as a labor of love, and it gets really annoying when people who don't contribute anything become gimme pigs. BStyles hit the nail on the head, and echoes my sentiments: if you are gonna b*tch and moan about little things in people's content--then take up Gmax/Sketchup Pro/AutoCAD, and make the stuff yourself. Anymore annoyance and I will consider pulling a Magicland, and taking all of my content with me. You've been warned.
  22. Been working all night (and trading model pics with BStyles ), but I've finally finished all of the splines--tried to make them more realistic by copying the color scheme of the unique layouts. I also eliminated the benches on the island platforms--they got in the way! Also have new track pillars and dividing walls. Here is DeKalb Avenue : Gonna start working on the Platform Ends tomorrow! Enjoy! -A
  23. I have begun work on the new station splines, with some new beams, and the exits put into the spline. The wooden benches will not be on the island platforms, just the side platforms with walls. Here is a WIP shot of the newest (and 16th) configuration, titled "NYCTA 1T Bypass". It is predominantly used on the CPW line (, and the Eastern Pkwy line . This will not replace the 1T no wall, which will be used for offset platforms, as mentioned before. -A
  24. Well, not to sound rude, but the 3rd rail diverge with the handrail will have to do for you right now. Knowing BStyles, he worked very hard on this el package for everyone to enjoy, and something as small as "well, there is a gap between the island and the track and you can see through the bottom" will be upsetting. Also, you can use the el girders in the package and place them underneath your track so they aren't see through--and you can also use the catwalks as well. Use "El Girder and Catwalk" in the track tab to place it directly under your track (holding shift so that the spline points don't automatically attach). It just takes some exploring to get the desired results, as with all content. See, it took less than 30 seconds: Hope that helps! -A
