Does Jamaica Depot still borrows Queens Village RTS's at this time for the rush?

not all the time. Its been happening less often because of the harsh winter

What I mean to say is that Ive seen some Next Gens when stepping inside the bus, in the middle section theres 2 seats together on the left and right

Most of the NG's that were at 126 have an odd seating configuration because of the time they spent on the M60. When we took the luggage racks out of those buses, we didn't have the right seats to put back. We put in whatever we could find because those seat are hard to come by brand new or even used from another depot.

Theres a New Flyer D60HF on the M60 Select Bus Service...

The M60 is back in the hands of OA...all bets are off

I've heard through the grapevine that the MTA will start having rodeo's again. We will also start participating in the APTA rodeo's again as well.

 

 

I got 10. A lot of people were jumping the gun with this one - what's really in there?

The plan was to have all of the orions gone from GA on Friday. A couple moves got cancelled because an unnamed Bronx division depot didn't sent their rts's back to Brooklyn. The other moves got cancelled because they didn't want to send the buses with open work orders.

9357 is at QV

9357 is at grand ave...I see that bus everyday. Its parked next to 6097 (designated scrap)

All of the orion V's should be gone from GA by tomorrow. Half of them will be scrap, the other half will go to castleton and gun hill.

8797 is now a MetroCard bus...

A couple hits from the rumor mill...supposedly the # of XD40's that GA is suppose to receive has dropped down to 60 from the original 75 (or 90 depending on who you talk to). And I heard that the 59xx's that are at MCH will go to KB. The 12xx's will take their places after the pick goes into effect.

Well yeah they can, but until then you won't see hybrids at ECH.

There are hybrids at MCH, but they don't have a battery conditioner yet...

 

Earlier, I was taking a picture of the Bx23 Bee Line Orion, and there was a BO having problems with me taking a picture of the bus. So he sent a dispatcher at Pelham Bay Park to check on what I was doing. The dispatcher asked if I was taking a picture of the bus and I told him yes because the bus looked interesting. He said ok and moved along. While I moved away to look at a different Bx23 that also had a Bee Line Orion, I noticed the BO who had a problem with me taking pics begin taking pictures of me. I ignored it because what can he do with a picture of a 16 year old holding a 2ds. But if he wanted me to stop taking pictures of the bus, he should have told me and I would of stopped. But no one told me to stop, so I continued to take pics.

To anyone who were caught taking pictures of the MTA by the MTA, were there any major consequences by them or did they basically talk shit about you taking pictures?

They mixed fleets before. Where did you think the D60s on the Q10 came from?

As long as you are not on MTA property, blinding the driver with a gigantic flash, or obstructing traffic to take the picture, you are well within your rights to take pictures.

I got a question for Dante or whoever else knows... since 126th is not going to be replace, does that mean Jamaica will get rebuilt sooner than it was suppose to??

Weird seeing that MCH emblem on buses again...

What do you guys use for bus tracking? I've been using "MTA Tracker+" for a few months and its OK. I want to know if there is a similar android app that works more smoothly.

Question: Is FP able of maintaining express buses?

The ceiling looks too low in the old building. In the new buildings, the maintenance bays are too short. If they were to remove a couple lifts from one of the new buildings, I guess they could squeeze some OTR coaches in there....

So the new "soft opening" date for MCH is November 9...let's keep our fingers crossed for this one.

From what I was told, the bean counters decides it would be cheaper to keep the buses as they are now

so apparently the hybrid to diesel conversions for MTAB are not gonna happen now...

They did the same thing with a 90 TMC while NGs were already running in service. To my knowledge that particular 90 TMC is a soda can now, I don't see the point of repainting old buses either.

There's not a lot of things that they do that makes sense. I remember when the original 1107 caught fire. They spent a week and a half body working and painting that bus until it looked like nothing happened to the bus. Than the bus sat there for another month. Than they scrapped the bus because they didn't want to spend $15k on a new engine and chassis harness.

"Warning: Call Police" or something like that seen on the side of HH Pkwy. It was picking up passengers.

...so no one went to Atlantic Antic this past Sunday? I usually see at least 3 or 4 photo threads of the buses that show up at the event by the Monday after it. But this year, nothing. What gives?

From what I hear, the depot is not opening at full capacity because of a deal made with the community to not have more buses in the new depot than the old depot had. But I'm sure that the amount of buses and lines in the depot will increase over time as the "need" arises...

Just saw a picture of a proterra ebus, photo shopped in MTA livery on the ttmg Facebook page. Is there any chance of that happening?

Which depot is bigger Flatbush Or Ulmer? IMO flatbush

From what I hear, flatbush depot was about the same size as ulmer park before the addition was built at flatbush. But as it stands now, Flatbush is listed at 244,000 square feet and ulmer park is listed at 118,000 square feet.
