  1. It doesn't, but what matters is that people actually do these pointless things like it's their everyday life..... nowdays people have nothing else to do. You didn't see no vandalism or any issues back in the 1940's era.... It's now that people want to ruin every new thing.....

  2. Holy sh*t......... Apologize for the language, but what the total f***?

So I was on 7830 today, and at Main Street the right side doors were open, leaving the left side doors closed. I looked into the front car 7832, and was like wtf?

Do the vandals literally send out sticker-peeling crews?

Two of the doors have 1/4 peeled "Do not lean on door" stickers, and a bit on the ones on the top. The door closest to the cab has a new "Do not hold doors" and two new "Do not lean on door" stickers, assuming they have been peeled. This is pathetic.... I've only seen this on 7832 and not on any other car. The entire bottom of the stickers on two of the doors are peeled and are rolling up onto the rest of the sticker, full of fingernail shaped peels on top. Jeez........

  3. I'm not a foamer lol. A foamer would have gone into the wide open cab of 7848 sitting at Times Square, as legobrickbreaker said on Instagram. The R188 isn't for everyone. I can see why you would want the plain R142A on the (7). But, when you think about it, it wouldn't have worked out. The (7) requires 11 cars and therefor, the "futuristic" 11th C car is needed. Also, they need to implement CBTC technology in the R142As to make the whole project possible. Your not crushing my heart, LOL! The R188 isn't for everyone. It's just my favorite because of the bright lights (I've never been a fan of the dim lighting R44s-68s), even with the recent new tech trains' lights dimming over the years. If I'm correct, I heard that the R188s lights are LEDs?

So I guess the red sticker I saw was on 7833. But I swear it was a B/C car.

Those red stickers are everywhere, there was one on 7896, one on 7836, one on 7833.........

  4. Not sure, haven't seen 7227. But I can say they did a decent job touching up 7230, looks much better than 7241.

Anyways what the heck is with 7833-7843, that set is like where all the R188 vandalism pretty much is......... BTW a door on 7843 has two do not lean on door stickers that don't match. One of them is from the factory, the other looks like the one from an R142A. So it may have been a peel.... Anyways let's track some vandalism on that set:

    7833: Red sticker tag

7834: Sticker on logo, two dried sticker marks on door, and also a sharpie tag above the other logo (it says either SOY or TOY)

7836: Big dry sticker mark on a logo.

7837: Peeled sticker as stated by Tech and Transit

7839: Once had a sharpie tag on it, now removed.

    7843: "BLUR"

  5. To add to your vandalism report, the "No Exit" sticker on the cab door of 7837 has been peeled of completely. 7849 and 7881 look good, those are the two other cars I rode yesterday. I saw an R188 with an orange sticker on the door but didn't catch the car number. I'm not sure if it was 7811-21's set. Might have been 7818.

7854- Door sticker peeled but they taped it back on.....

  6. So according to NYC Fire Wire on Facebook, there is a fire in the Steinway Tunnel.

Manhattan *75-0791* E 42 St/1st Ave. Division 3 using All Hands for a fire on the 7 line under the East River between Manhattan & Queens.

And news has been reporting that a fire near Grand Central is shutting down the (7), which pretty much I think everyone would know by now.

Service has pretty much resumed, but now I'm wondering if anything has been done to the weeks of work they've been doing in the tunnel? I know it was just a track fire, but it might have done something to the CBTC and such as it was stated to be near a signal area (I'm assuming it's where the switches are at)...

  7. BTW, to note one thing I saw yesterday... On one of the conversion sets (I think 7231-7240), I spotted graffiti on it (spray paint graffiti). Not sure if they used white spray paint, gray spray paint, silver spray paint, or any spray paint that matches with the train or if it was graffiti that was failed to clean up. It was on the side of the train, and it was the first time I've seen something like that happen to those things.......

  8. LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No that's not the confusing part. The confusing part is why you would take the word of anyone who's not on the property anymore. I don't take the word of a majority of the people who are still active employees and wait to see things happen with my own eyes yet you take the word of someone who's not active. Now that's the confusing part.

And that's why I can no longer trust any statement from the internet pretty much...

  9. Alright guys... I got 7843 set for the second time in 2 weeks so I will now give a complete breakdown on the vandalism on that set.

7843: Cab door tag "BLUR" and it seems to be like one  of the "Do not lean on door" stickers have been peeled because on one of the doors, the two stickers don't match. One of them is the one they arrived in, the other is the one that is on R142A. (Difference is- the one they arrived in is not as tall and letters are more spread apart)

7836: Big ass dry sticker mark on one of the (MTA) logos...

7834: Red sticker on an (MTA) logo, two dry sticker marks on the side of a door, and a sharpie tag that I think says "SOY" that hasn't been removed yet. I have yet to check the interior of 7834, I expect it to be much worse....

7833: Sticker tag probably removed already.

PREVIOUS TAG TO NOTE SEEN ON THIS SET:

    7839: Big sharpie tag removed

  10. Oh man I have to be that specific? I clearly said EIGHT NEW SETS....SETS...7811-7898. I was not talking about the INDIVIDUAL R188s that will be C CARS.

My question...once again since idk the real legit answer..is, this whole (6), (7), swap was suppose to be SET FOR SET right?...so if that's the case, shouldn't all the R62As go to the (6), and ALL the R142As go to the (7)? And then those EXTRA EIGHT SETS be for the (7) extension and obviously because the (7) has higher ridership.

That is why I don't understand why there are R142As going to the (4) when all the (6) R142As are suppose to go to the (7) for all of the R62As to go to the (6).

I hope I am clear enough this time (even though I thought I was last time).

Lance my bad I was already in the process of making my post when you posted that. So apparently what I was saying is correct, and that some R142As going to the (4) is bullshytt.

7811-7898 were ordered because of CBTC. The (6) requires more cars than the (7), therefore a full trade will still result in the (7) having the same amount of cars as they did before.  The purpose of having CBTC in the first place was for better and increased service. Well, you can't have increased service without an increased amount of trains. More R142A coming to the (7) will mean less trains for the (6) or perhaps any other line, which will cause a shortage Therefore, they had to order eight new sets. They will also be stored in the Hudson Yards, since Corona might not have enough space. The eight sets were not just made for the extension.

As for R142A's heading to the (4) there was an actual set that came to the (4) recently, and has already gotten new strip maps. It might be some sort of swap as Lance states, so we just have to wait and see. It might not be complete bullsh*t but it can be false to an extent.

Although this swap nonsense/rumors are spreading, the real way to know is to wait and see.

  11. I'm getting information (again NOT ACCURATE, I'm not saying that I KNOW of it, as I'm clearly saying that I HEARD OF IT before any accusations start) from people that I know SHOULD NOT be trusted. I only share it for a confirmation. And I won't be afraid to release who the people are.

    Let me clear this up:

I WILL NOT RELEASE THE NAMES HERE, I WILL IF IT DOES HAVE AN IMPACT ON ME.

    - One person has told me they got notified by a motorman that works the (6) that he laid up R142s 6661-6670 one day. Again, have no clue if this is true or false.

    - Another person is stating that the R142A's will be going to the (4) and that westchester HATES R62A because they are lazy & don't want to change signs. That comes to the statement by another person that R142 from the (2) will be going to the (6) and that R62A will be heading to the 7th Ave Line.

    - Another person states that all R142A will be converted for fleet compatibility. Again, I highly doubt it was true although he did seem like a worker. That is why I didn't share it until now.

    - They are also stating that an R62 from the (3) was once on the (6) .

ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT THE ONE WHO IS MAKING THIS UP, I AM THE ONE WHO IS SHARING THIS TO GET FURTHER INFORMATION ON WHETHER THIS IS RELEVANT OR IRRELEVANT INFORMATION I WILL BE SHARING THEIR NAMES (in which I really don't want to) IF I POSSIBLY GET INVOLVED OR ACCUSED FOR FALSE INFO

  12. Are you new?

And I saw a set that is with SHARPIE <_< !

Come on, Corona! aka Home of The <7> !

    You mean 7227?

BTW Corona does a really good job taking care of the trains. All they're missing is some Goo-Gone to remove the adhesive marks left by slap tags. I gave this vandal report on FB, but I guess I'll give it here as well:

    Vandalism Report:

Trains with no vandalism ever spotted:

    7844-7854 7860-7870 7877-7887

    Detailed report:

R188 7811-7821: Within the first 30 days, scratchiti on 7818. Can not confirm if it has been removed or not.

    R188 7822-7832:

Sharpie tag on the logo of 7832: Has since been removed. Sticker tag on 7823 (?). Not removed.

    R188 BLUR (7833-7843):

Sharpie tag(s) on 7839, 7834. Should have been removed.

Dry sticker marks on 7834, and an unknown car.

Tag on cab door of 7843, that says "BLUR" and looks as if they tried removing it but failed.

PICTURE- TAG LOCATED IN BOTTOM RIGHT

    R188 7844-7854: Clean!

R188 7855-7859, 7871-7876: Sticker tag on 7856. It was recent, but I'm not sure if it has been removed yet.

    R188 7860-7870: Clean!

    R188 7877-7887: Clean

R188 7888-7898: Half peeled sticker tag on 7894. Also sticker tag on 7896.

It seems as if stickers are giving most of the troubles. Sharpies always get removed... But they need GOO GONE!

  13. Yesterday, I was waiting for the Q28 at the first stop on the corner of Union Street where the Q13 and Q16 are, and there was a training bus #4505 from LGA.. It was making a turn and got into an accident, in which it then caused a 5 minute delay for my bus (which couldn't get into the stop due to a driver who couldn't move 2 cm to the right..... )Anyways I overheard the B/O saying that it got hit on the side by a car or something, and one thing I noticed is that the bus turned right on the left lane, in which usually buses turn right thru the right lane, and that confused me.
