  1. Part Suspended

No southbound (A)(C) service between Manhattan and Brooklyn while emergency teams respond to a person who was struck by a train at Jay St-MetroTech.

    Service Changes:

    (C) trains are suspended in both directions.

Southbound (A) trains will end at World Trade Center and turn for northbound service.

Some southbound (A) trains will run via the (F) line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Church Av and turn for northbound service.

Some northbound (A) trains will end at Euclid Av or Broadway Junction.

Listen to announcements on your train to hear how it will operate.

    Alternatives:

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider the (J).

For service in Brooklyn, take B25 buses making nearby station stops.

Take (Q) trains as an alternative for service in Brooklyn.

These are the remaining Oradell buses, near as I can tell.

    7412, 7586, 7605, 7668, 7690, 7695, 7703, 7705, 7712, 7718, 7727, 7229, 7750, 7755, 7781, 7823, 7853, 7859, 7866, 7870, 7881, 7926, 8033, and 8270.

7726 and 8979 are also active. 7726 happens to be tracking at Howell right now; think it might have covered a trip on the 139. Similar thing with 7755 yesterday; it was returned later in the night.
Is 7989 still around? Something out of Howell has been tracking with that number, but it seems to be a particularly lousy tracker since it keeps jumping to random locations.

  3. Part Suspended

Special weekend (M) service is partially suspended while our crews at Lexington Av/63 St are addressing a switch problem.

    (Q) trains are running with delays.

    (M) service will operate in two sections with limited service:

    • Regular weekend stops between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Delancey St-Essex St
    • On the (Q) line between 96 St and Canal St

    Alternatives

For service into Manhattan from the (L) , take (J) trains to/from Broadway Junction. Transfer to (F) service at Delancey St-Essex St, (N)(Q)(R) service at Canal St, and (A)(C) service at Fulton St.

For service past Delancey St-Essex St for (M) customers, take (F) trains from Delancey St-Essex St. Transfer to (A)(C) service at W 4 St-Wash Sq or (N)(Q)(R) service at 34 St-Herald Sq.

  4. I agree that Federal Circle would been a more ideal spot, with both of the Airtrain branches and the airport shuttles stopping there. That way the Q3 wouldn't have to circle all the way around the terminal area and people wouldn't have to use another transfer or take Airtrain one stop to get to the Service Road area. Perhaps if they invested into making more space for buses around there; I could see buses potentially drop off at the north side, layover on the Cargo Service Rd and pick up or just loop at the south side (though this spot might be too tight). That'd require one of the lanes to be converted, but I don't recall there being too much traffic on that road. They are making a new layover space at Lefferts, so that could have also been an option.

13 hours ago, BM5 via Woodhaven said:

The reason being, that last sentence sticking out, as the same thing could be said about the M60. It has no layover at LGA, and buses on the Manhattan end find whatever place possible to layover.

Isn't the M60 a little different though, since it has to serve all of the terminals? A layover at LGA would have pax. on the bus also having to wait, or them getting off to take another one. It does tend to become pretty unreliable at some points too; wouldn't want the JFK routes replicating that, especially so with the B15.

  5. There seems to be a lot of standards operating on the Q53+ right now for some reason. 7445, 7449, 7455 and 4510.

Apparently they were also running shuttle buses in Manhattan yesterday and today, but there seems to be no mention of such on their website or on Twitter.

  6. Some Reroutes

There are major delays and reroutes to A train service while we repair a 3rd rail-protection board along the tracks in the tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Northbound A trains are running on the F line from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St-Wash Sq and will make all local stops in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Some northbound F trains are running along the G line from Bergen St to Court Sq, then via the E line to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av.

C trains are suspended on the entire line.

    Some Delays

There are major delays and reroutes to B D N and Q train service while NYPD responds to someone in need on the Manhattan Bridge.

    B

Service is suspended on the entire line. Take the A or Q instead.

    D

Trains will make local stops in Manhattan and then run along the F line in both directions between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Coney Island-Stillwell Av

    M

    N and Q

Trains are running along the R line in both directions between DeKalb Av and Canal St.

Travel Alternatives for service between Brooklyn and Manhattan-

    At 14 St-Union Sq, take 4 or 5 trains.

    At Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take 2 3 4 or 5 trains.

At 59 St-Columbus Circle, transfer to A C trains to Jay St-MetroTech where R service is available.

At 34 St-Herald Sq, transfer to N Q or R trains for service into Brooklyn.

Expect delays in F R and W train service as they share the same track with rerouted trains.

See a station agent for a courtesy pass to continue your trip if you have no service at your station.

  7. There is extremely limited (7)  service between 34 St-Hudson Yards and Queensboro Plaza while we work to move a work train experiencing mechanical problems at Grand Central-42 St.

Hudson Yds-bound <7> express service is suspended in Queens.

Main St-bound service will operate on the Hudson Yards-bound track from Times Sq-42 St to Hunters Point Av.

Some 34 St-bound trains will turn back toward Main St at Woodside-61 St or Queensboro Plaza.

LIRR is cross-honoring MetroCard holders at no additional charge at Flushing-Main St, Woodside-61 St and 34 St-Penn Station.

Transfer to the (E), (F), (M) or (R) at 74 St-Broadway or to the (N) or (W)  trains at Queensboro Plaza for service to/from Midtown

    PART SUSPENDED  Posted: 01/06/2021  3:29PM

(N), (Q) and (R) trains are delayed and/or rerouted while we investigate a loss of power in the tunnel between Manhattan and Queens.

    (N) and (W) service is suspended between 57 St-7 Av and Queensboro Plaza.

    (R) trains are rerouted via the (Q) and (R) lines in both directions between 57 St-7 Av and 36 St in Queens.

For service between Manhattan and Queens consider taking nearby (E)(F)(M) and (7) train service.

  9. Suspended

There are extensive delays and multiple impacts to A, C and D service because of water leaking onto the tracks at 81 St-Museum of Natural History from street level.

There is no A, C or D service between 59 St-Columbus Circle and 125 St. The best alternatives for train service in Manhattan are...

    • F trains. If you’re coming from Brooklyn, transfer at Jay St-MetroTech.‌
    • 1 trains. If you’re headed downtown, transfer at 59 St.
    • N, Q and R trains. If you’re headed downtown, walk from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 57 St-7 Av.

    Here are more details:

    (A) Trains

Service is running in multiple sections.

    • Between 207 St and 125 St
    • Between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd, making local stops
    • A shuttle train between Euclid Av and Far Rockaway-Mott Av

Some northbound A trains starting from Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd will turn back southbound at Jay St-MetroTech or Chambers St to reduce congestion.

    (C) Trains

Service is suspended in both directions.

Some trains that have already departed from Euclid Av may run on the E line from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal into Queens.

    (D) Trains

Service is running in two sections.

    • Between Norwood-205 St and 125 St
    • Between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Coney Island-Stillwell Av

Some northbound trains will turn back at 36 St in Brooklyn to reduce congestion.

    Alternatives

For service in Midtown, Upper West Side and Harlem, take 1 trains. Here are stations where transfers are available to/from the 1 train.

    • 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal on the A line.
    • 59 St-Columbus Circle on the A and D lines.
    • 168 St on the A line.

For service from Brooklyn into Manhattan, transfer from A trains to F trains at Jay St-MetroTech. Transfer from D to 2, 3, N and 2 trains at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

For service from Queens/the Rockaways, transfer at Euclid Av to a local A train.

  10. Part Suspended

There are multiple impacts to (N) , (Q) , and (R) train service while emergency teams are responding to someone who was struck by a train at 14 St-Union Sq.

There is no (N) and (Q) train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

For stations between Whitehall St and 28 St, consider using nearby (4) and (6) trains.

Some Whitehall St-bound (R) trains are rerouted onto the (F) line from 36 St in Queens and ending at 2 Av where they will turn back to Queens for service.

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider taking (2)(3)(A)(C) or (F)  trains.

  11. So I thought I'd share a little experience I had today...
So I was over at Washington Heights this evening trying to get home and was waiting at 168th in front of the hospital for the next Midtown bus, and I walk over to the s/b M5 stop and see 4263 parked there. I believe I tracked it on the n/b M5 running pretty late (15+ mins behind) and it probably got short turned as a result. Maps says that the next one was coming in around 4 mins, and since there was no other bus leaving 178th, I assumed he'd just go into service there. About a minute before the bus was scheduled, the op turns on the bus, and those of us waiting start walking up but alas, he quickly pulls out NIS and starts speeding away down Broadway (I watched it go down a few blocks), so I instead crossed the street for the M3 that was just about to turn in, as the next M5 was another 20 min wait. I thought that he might've just been going back to the depot (which didn't make a lot of sense if he was on layover), but what do you know, I pull up the tracker a few mins later and 4263 was in service on the M5 for the trip I'd expected it to be on, around the 150s.

I'm just curious as to whether it was his personal choice to do so or not, and as to why whomever might feel that he couldn't just go into service from where he was at... everyone waiting at stops north of 157th (where I think he started making stops) went a whole 40 mins without an M5 passing, and it just seems like a big inconvenience. IIRC, this has happened to me before, except the op went into service right after having left the stop I was waiting at as NIS.

As for Manhattan N/S routes, yeah they are pretty terrible during the week and you're best off waiting for the weekend when the runtime is shorter for most routes. These days traffic isn't such as much an issue but rather buses running hot and taking a slow pace for the whole duration, which I do not blame them for doing. Though I will say it is a little annoying when some are slugging it despite being behind, which leads to all the bunching and crowding and whatnot.

  12. Part Suspended

There is no (N) and (W)  train service between Queensboro Plaza and Astoria - Ditmars Blvd in both directions while our crews work to remove a fallen tree from the tracks at 30 Av.

The last stop on Queens-bound (N) and (W) trains will be 34 St - Herald Sq, 57 St - 7 Av, 96 St on the (Q) line or Queensboro Plaza.

For alternate service Queens take an (E), (F) , (M)  or (R) train and a Q69 bus to Astoria - Ditmars Blvd.

  13. Multiple Impacts

There are delays and multiple impacts in (Q) service while we remove fallen tree branches from the tracks at Beverley Rd and Avenue H.

Northbound (Q) trains are stopping along the (N) line from Coney Island - Stillwell Av to DeKalb Av.

    (Q) trains are running express between Prospect Park and Kings Hwy in both directions.

For service to/from bypassed stations, use southbound (Q) trains.

Continue to expect delays in (B) and (Q) train service in both directions.

  14. Part Suspended

There are delays and multiple impacts to J and M trains while NYPD responds to an unauthorized person on the tracks at Flushing Av.

J trains run in two sections: Broad St to Delancy St - Essex St and Broadway Jct to Jamaica Center - Parsons/Archer.

M trains are suspended between Delancy St - Essex St and Middle Village - Metropolitan Av.

Middle Village - Metropolitan Av-bound M trains are running between Forest Hills - 71 Av and 2 Av on the F line.

For service between Broadway Jct and Manhattan, consider A, C, or L train service.

For local travel within Brooklyn, consider B46 or Q24 bus service.

    Local To Express

Northbound C and E trains are running on the express track from Canal St to 42 St - Port Authority Bus Terminal (E)/ 59 St - Columbus Circle (C)while we request medical help for someone at 14 St.

If your stop is missed, use southbound C or E train service.

  15. Part Suspended

We're temporarily suspending (M) service between 96 St and Essex St-Delancey St because of a Con Edison power problem affecting our signal system at West 4 St-Washington Square.

For service between 96 St and West 4 St-Washington Square, consider taking (F) or (Q) train service.

To think that every B division line in Manhattan is currently limited to the 6 Avenue trunk.

  16. For some reason they decided that rerouting an (M) onto 8th was a good idea... there was one just sitting at Port Authority, stuck in the conga line on the SB local track.

    Also,

    Delays

Expect longer wait times in (D) and (G)  train service in both directions while we work to correct a signal problem at 14 St.
