If this thread is accurate, the webmaster allegedly calls the employer of posters who register using a work e-mail and sends unpleasant e-mails to posters who post from out of the area:

Thank you. I see the Webmaster posted a reason and locked this thread. The reason seems plausible and this restores my faith.
