Lennyj17 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #26 Posted January 9, 2010 I really dont see the big deal with the B39 or the B51 neither one take that many resources to make score.. Isnt the B39 covered by just one bus during the most of the day on during the week and all day on the weekends and during the rush 2 buses are needed to make score *Big Deal* and after the PM Rush say around 8pm isnt the 39 interlined with serveral WBP routes anyway??? Same for the B51 all it take is 2 buses to make score, not really making a dent in the MTA's budget... And Both routes do get plenty of ridership to justify the exsistance of the routes, so leave them be. I think extending other routes to cover what was the 39 and 51 would actually be TOO Much service and that would eat into the MTA's budget. Grand Concourse Posted January 9, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 9, 2010 IAWTP ^ It's not like both of those lines runs 5 or 10 buses a day right? It is cheaper to run those buses than it would be to add elevators [i would assume they'd build at least 3-4, if they want riders to get the F/J/M/Z lines]. BM5 via Woodhaven Posted December 22, 2011 Share #28 Posted December 22, 2011 How about this idea... Combine it with the B60 and turning it into a limited? If you look at at, its possible. And at nights just end service at the plaza. How's that sound? The (B39) was originally part of the (B44), but split because of the longness of the route. If the (B46) local ran to Willamsburg, then (B46) Limited buses only would cross the bridge:)
