airindia78780 0 Posted July 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2010 Today at Jackson Heights on the I saw a few R-36 cars attached to some R-62A cars, at around 8:20 PM. Is this a special train that gets run every once in a while? And what was the purpose of having the R-62A cars attached? I did not get to ride the train nor did I have my camera, else I would have certainly snapped a picture.
SmallParkShuttle 143 Posted July 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2010 Don't take me wrong on this question: was the train in service w/ passengers or might it have been a yard move? I ask because on tuesday night while driving over the Manhattan bridge I saw an R-62 single sandwiched between two pairs of redbirds headed to CIY on the south tracks. Matt91 1 Posted July 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 9, 2010 It's a yard move. Check out my thread/pix here on the exact same subject, should answer any other questions.
