Abba Posted December 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2010 Current Service Status / Subways-BDFM Posted: 12/03/2010 1:13PM MTA Service Notice Due to an earlier incident, there is no train service in both directions between the 2nd Avenue Station and the Essex Street Station. Customers are advised to use trains to transfer between stations. I don't understand this detour. Can someone explain? The(M) doesn't even stop at 2nd Ave. The only think i can think of is maybe the M is terminating at 2nd ave.
LRG Posted December 3, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2010 trains are probably relaying at Second Avenue instead of going through the cut. Either way it's a head-scratcher.

Guest lance25 Posted December 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 3, 2010 If I had to guess, the is operating in two sections: between Metropolitan Av and Chambers St & Forest Hills-71 Av and 2 Av.
Eric B Posted December 3, 2010 Share #5 Posted December 3, 2010 They probably have the switch clamped, to allow the (F)'s and (M)'s from 2nd Av. through. Before, the (F)'s were said to be going over the in that direction, and the was suspended from Essex to Continental. (This is what it said on the e-mail alert). Don't know why it's taking this long to fix it, but I heard it was still relatively new.
