Metro CSW Posted May 3, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 3, 2012 The New Flyer Industries XN40 is a CNG-powered transit bus from New Flyer's Xcelsior line. It has a raised roofline like the XDE40, but it is taller because of the CNG tanks. Because the CNG tanks take up the space on the roof and there is no need for a diesel aftertreatment system, the HVAC unit is at the rear over the engine. CATA of State College, Pennsylvania was the first customer to take delivery of the XN40 and will have 28 of these buses in service by Fall 2012. What do you guys think? Yes, this is the CNG model that will eventually replace the LF/R platform.

Perhaps Joe Gibson would loan one of these to NICE, for down the road. http://www.dart.org/news/DARTCNGNABIFactSheet.pdf
