Metro4050 Posted September 9, 2012 Share #26 Posted September 9, 2012 Funny, people consider the Novas the WORST of the RTS. Just goes to show you that the RTS is the last of the greats.
Blitz Posted September 9, 2012 Share #27 Posted September 9, 2012 Fixable, but the box beams are comprimised, very serious frame damage, lots of work. The bus is about 2ft. shorter than it was before the collision. The bus was determined to be a total loss at the scene Also glad that IntExp is ok. Be advised, that if this was any Orion VII OG/NG/3G the BO would have been critically injured if not fatally injured there are NO load bearing members foward of the front wheelwell an the front of an OVII or LFS would have been obliterated, because the front the aforementioned buses are fiberglass and polycarbonite. This & other front end RTS collisions shows the strength of the RTS. Even the Orion V & Flxible have better structure than the plastic crap out here today. Please let this be a lesson. Oh definitely. No low floor bus would have taken that hit. Look at 1258 for example. It was crashed way back in November yet it's still sitting in the same spot we put it in since the tow truck pulled it in. Even though we've moved it a couple times, the point is there hasn't been anything done to that bus yet except for scavenging of parts. Believe me, if that bus was a few more years old it would have been deemed a total loss as well...
