Juelz4309 Posted November 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2013 I notice that more 5's run to Crown hts then flatbush avenue whassup wit that? I know theres apparently an issue with the amount of trains that flatbush can hold but the way the layup is set up at utica u wud think with the 4s runnin evry 5 minutes it wud be an overload...and a another question...how long does it really take to throw a switch? Becuase it seems that its quite a challnge to move switches ...does it require alotta power ur somethin? I would like to think u just press a button and it goes so what gives??? I also know some 2/3/4 and 5's go to to New Lots but theres the yard at the end for those trains...

realizm Posted November 23, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2013 Just PM the mods they can move your thread to the subway subforum. This topic would make for an intersting discussion for the straphangers and transit enthusiasts.
SubwayGuy Posted November 23, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 23, 2013 Flatbush can't turn all the 2's and 5's it gets. The ones that are sent to Utica are either during the peak of the rush to avoid congestion at Flatbush terminal, or they are trains that will layup to New Lots Yard for the next rush. Same concept is used with the Echo at Parsons during the Rush Hours..
