FastLife2010 Posted September 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi All, I currently have a PA driver license. If I get my CDL Class B permit in PA will MaBSTOA still employ me or do I HAVE to have a NYS Driver Liscnse? Richie
metsfan Posted September 4, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2008 I know of many bus driving employees from PA and NJ. They have never had an issue as far as i know. Would be cool to confirm from someone with more knowledge on the issue. - A
FastLife2010 Posted September 4, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted September 4, 2008 Yeah this is rather important as I don't want to run into any headaches or setbacks. I would like to file for the new exam #2901 for MaBSTOA. Don't want to waste my time and be told that I MUST have a NY CDL/Permit in order to work for them. ANyone know of a phone # I can call to confirm? Thanks everyone. R-

RTS4Life Posted September 5, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 5, 2008 if you live in PA you have to take the road test in PA. But if you have a CDL already from PA then MTA will help you out. You need to get your 19a after you pass the 10 day training.

You mean I have to already have a CDL Class B with P endorsement and Air Brakes before I start training? Or I train with my PA CDL permit then go road test on my own in PA? If not, hows the process work? Also, what's a 19a? Thanks R-
RTS4Life Posted September 5, 2008 Share #7 Posted September 5, 2008 I mean when you take the road test. I think the road test has to be in the state you got your license at. also if you don't live in PA MTA will wanted to know why you didn't change your address. This Happen to me and they sent my check to my old address I had to drive over 2hours to get it. If you really need to found out call HR.
