The second sentence is redundant.

Metro-North is fairly accessible in Riverdale because we have shuttle buses that go to our Metro-North stations directly, but can be difficult to reach without those buses since those stations are along the Hudson River.  The Metro-North stations in Woodlawn, Wakefield, Williams Bridge, Tremont, Melrose, Fordham, etc. do not have shuttle buses, though they some are served with local buses, so Riverdale is unique in that they are the only stations in New York City to have shuttle bus service. The Bronx stations in the aforementioned areas don't have this, so my statement is not redundant.

Metro North stations such as Botanical Garden, Fordham, Tremont, and Melrose used to have an elevated line near by, but it got replaced by a bus, which got replaced by other buses. The Harlem line is unique in which nearby rapid transit was taken away from the area. Areas such as Williamsbridge, Woodlawn, and Wakefield need  Metro North stations, especially for the reverse commuters (also Bee Line doesn't want to run 40/41 to the Bronx too much and wants Metro North to handle most of the riders).

Woodlawn I get because it is very isolated with no subway, but Williamsbridge and Wakefield have subway service to the East and West Side via the (2) and (5) , and the Metro-North stations are not exactly accessible.
