NYCFan9553 Posted July 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2015 It looks like the next application window for this exam will be in September, according to the website. Is this position for the subway or the LIRR? Do you have to be a NYC resident to work for NYCT? I live in NJ. Also, how do you prepare for this exam? I suppose you don't actually take it in September. You probably won't take it until sometime in 2016.

+Young+ Posted July 6, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 6, 2015 It looks like the next application window for this exam will be in September, according to the website. I suppose you don't actually take it in September. You probably won't take it until sometime in 2016. If you look at the old notices of Examinations produced by DCAS (Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services), which can be located at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/200808094000.pdf and http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/200808098000.pdf, this should answer most of your questions. If you're still curious, do a compare and contrast to the most recent examinations (example: Bus Operator - old - https://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/200808006000.pdf, new - http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/archives/pdf/2613.pdf. As far as how you prepare - that's up to you. As far as a test date - you are correct, sometime in 2016.
