Juelz4309 Posted July 27, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2016 Headin Southbound on the 6 into 125...The train picks up good speed and then slows down dramatically right b4 it enters the station and then crawls to a stop ...cant tell u how many 4/5 expresses have been missed if the Conductor dosent wait...Is this really needed? Imagine the delays such a timer would cuase on the Express side?

That's why the timers are there

Imagine the delays such a timer would cuase on the Express side? Yes that timer is needed. It was installed about 2 years ago. If a southbound 6 is being rerouted to the express track and the train behind it should overrun that automatic it will prevent a rear end collision. The same reason one was placed on the southbound local track entering 42nd TSQ on the 1.
