CenSin Posted February 12, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2022 The answer to all “can I …” questions is “yes” except those which are prohibited by the laws of physics. Of course, it’s all theoretical. What did you hope for by creating a thread with a rhetorical question for a title?

There was literally no need in creating a new thread for this at all. There's already a pinned thread for proposals. Like CenSin said, it's all theoretical and on a technicality, the can definitely run to Coney Island with the current setup. running normal reroutes via the from Canal St all the way to Jay St-MetroTech and via the running normal and reroutes via the at West 4 St via 6 Av from 53 St or 63 St which would run local via the all the way to Coney Island via 6 Av from 63 St which could switch to express and run via the then via the or around Atlantic Av via the from Queens Plaza then via the or around Atlantic Av There was already a discussion about extending the from WTC onto Montague and how it could run from there. As for the , there's no need in extending it to Coney Island or even that far into Brooklyn. A Brooklyn extension wouldn't be bad, but it shouldn't run far.

The gap between an A division train and any B division platform are wide af.

You put one of those choo choos 🚂 on the track that can go anywhere and you add platform extenders to it. Tape a “” sticker to the front and the rear. At South Ferry, it will then transform à la Optimus Prime and walk up the stairs to the track before transforming back into a train and heading to Coney Island.

And as mentioned, an IRT (numbered) route cannot be in passenger service on a BMT/IND (lettered) route because the gap between the train and platform would be too wide. If BMT/IND equipment goes on an IRT line, the platforms would be destroyed as well as damage to the train itself. Consider yourself hereby instructed and go to "nycsubway.org" to learn about the differences between the BMT/IND and IRT cars. You may be surprised to find out all the stuff you think you know but really don't.
