You're right. Last time the (:) used 2600s series was back in 2004

 

Exactly, or even in Mid 2001 before the Manhattan Bridge (B)(D)(Q)<Q>(W) Flop.

it was 2004 cause I remember the (B) using the 2600s frequently. And you're right that they did use it 2001 too

Call me a n00b, but why is this special? Is it that these R68's are from Concourse and now are in Coney Island on the (:)?

These are probably a surplus of Concourse R68s that usually runs on the (D); hence the (D) hasn't been a Brighton Train for 8 years now, come this July. However, its nice and cool to see Concourse R68 (D) Train Cars run on the (B). Brighton hasn't seen these cars in years.
