compobus fan Posted January 15, 2013 Share #26 Posted January 15, 2013 New Flyer is on a roll, another 130+ for Phoenix over 1-3 years, though the models are undetermined. The last batch of C40LFR's were Suburban config.
jgood6195 Posted January 15, 2013 Share #27 Posted January 15, 2013 Probably more C40LFRs.
compobus fan Posted January 16, 2013 Share #28 Posted January 16, 2013 Probably more C40LFRs. Perhaps, but there was an XN40 out there the second week of December, then I saw it heading West on 10 towards LA/Palm Springs so who knows.

compobus fan Posted January 29, 2013 Share #31 Posted January 29, 2013 I spoke to Joe Gibson, NABI bid the GEN III, as the RFP called out a steel frame, and NFI went ultra low on this one. When the option comes up in 2015, the 40' composite (Metro 40C) can then be bid against the XN40. The XN40 was definitely in Phoenix, so look for those in 2015 ! Turbo19 Posted August 7, 2013 Author Share #33 Posted August 7, 2013 Update on the NFI order. Some of the first buses are coming off the line as of late last month. Looks nice, no?
Cait Sith Posted August 7, 2013 Share #34 Posted August 7, 2013 I just hope they can stand up to the test....the compobus is king out there in L.A.
Turbo19 Posted August 7, 2013 Author Share #35 Posted August 7, 2013 I just hope they can stand up to the test....the compobus is king out there in L.A. Granted, but the Compo's are in a class of their own. I'm looking this mainly as just another transit bus. Hopefully they won't age as much as the LFW's. Now, an LFS CNG in the Local, or even better, the Rapid scheme. Damn, now that would be a nice fit for LA.

Turbo19 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Share #43 Posted September 28, 2013 I just want to state for the record that the rims are not standard steel, rather they're aluminum with a black finish. Why Metro went with this I don't know, presumably it's just for aesthetics.

Turbo19 Posted September 30, 2013 Author Share #45 Posted September 30, 2013 I should have stated color, not type, my bad. No, you're alright. Just clarifying for those under the impression the wheels are steel, similar to the MTA.
