  1. Minor M9 program update. These cars will replace the M3, and it is now confirmed they will be based on the M7, yet will be much more technologically advanced. The program is expected to remain on schedule with the first pilot cars arriving by the end of 2016. So unfortunately we are a couple years off, but this is the new news.

It looked like it from the rendering. Except it seems it's going to have the destination LED signs on the fronts like the M8s. I hope the interiors are a bit different from the M7s.
  2. Originally, this bus order was supposed to replace the rest of the Vs. But NICE ended up auctioning less of the Vs than the number of buses that had been purchased/delivered back in 2012. With this latest development, you can expect NICE to just be increasing their fleet and not necessarily getting rid of the buses that are barely alive.

Are they going to put the clever devices that are already on the 3Gs on the Vs??
  3. They did? that's interesting. Making connections there sucked.

No, there's this revisionist history where people feel like MTA was super great running LIB. But I remember late buses, broke down buses, packed buses, etc. NICE may have modified routes, but was the MTA really "better" at running LIB? Not necessarily.

There is room for imporovement however, if they're going to schedule buses a certain way , especially to make connections, then the buses

Yes. They moved the stop where the Bank of America is across from the pet shop. Which also serves the northbound n31/32. Definitely more convenient.
  4. Agreed on the GPE variant....kinda pointless. The experience is pretty much the same, minus the motorola apps.

I basically got it because I was astounded by the quality of the Moto X and that T-Mobile didn't have anything notable for me to upgrade to after 4 years. As much as I appreciate the Galaxy lineup, they're overrated as hell. The G doesn't fall too far off from the X in terms of quality. Plus the flip cases are freakin' awesome.

If the X+1 doesn't hit T-Mobile, I might upgrade to the HTC One M8 or the LG G3.

I can totally agree with you on Samsung they are becoming another Apple their lineup of phones are extremely overhpyed. I chose the Nexus 4 because I looked into it and of course I didn't feel like spending an arm and a leg on good phone. So I came across this phone I knew this was the phone for me. I saw it had the latest Version of Android, snappy quad core S4 Pro,768p screen. And all of that for $300 the phone even made the iPod touch look like a joke. And that resulted in Mr becoming an a Android fan :)
  5. Yup, xfer'd at Lynbrook JUST to see it leave the first stop. The next n4 was packed. I would've LIRR'd it, but I didn't feel like paying that much to get to Jamaica.

Yea $5.25 is not worth it from Lynbrook. I'd just take the n4.

The N4 local is quite unreliable, especially on weekends. Stand at Jamaica/Archer Ave, Lynbrook/5 Corners, and Freeport, and write down the times the buses are coming between 12pm and 6pm. I guarantee you'll see tons of bus bunching, where 2 buses come back-to-back, and then you won't see any other buses for 40 minutes. You'll see how buses leave 10 or 20 minutes behind schedule at the first stop (Jamaica and Freeport).

On the other hand, the N4x is always on-time, to the second. If you arrive even one second late, you risk having the door slammed in your face.

Yea the n4 local is a hit or a miss. And always has been even when the (MTA) ran the show. But I just use the "Transit" app. I've tested it some Freeport bound n4s left a minute ahead schedule. It's just a matter of luck. When you don't need the bus they site up in bunches of 2 and even 3. But when you actually need it it doesn't show up. :sigh:
  6. Currently on the Moto G bandwagon with ParanoidAndroid and a custom kernel. Battery life has far surpassed what the stock build provided and the stock build was pretty damn good too. Hoping to get the Moto X+1 when its released.

Moto G is a fantastic budget phone. Definitely a good phone many prepaid carriers need. Although I find it pointless that moto made a GOOGLE PLAY EDITON.

Where are all the Apple fans at? I'm shocked that none have appeared yet...

They know Android is better. Lol :P
