    But seriously, until we see a drastic reason to put a subway in the Bronx, I am in full agreement. Why waste money on something you don't need?

     

    Who needs more service to Bedford Park Boulevard anyway you take the (4) or the (B)(D) up that's it.
  2. In my opinion, LIRR would be better off with a Catenary System or Under-Running Third Rails. However, this conversion would be very expensive considering that the LIRR has Over-Running Third Rails in the entire "electric" system east of Sunnyside Yard.

     

    I'd be all for a ALP46 dashing to Huntington while ALP45DP's go to Port Jeff, Montauk and such if it is the case, =P.

     

    If they were to do that they should convert electric territory into under-running third rail.
  3. I agreed now. But remember that all (except 40 cars which will be in 5-car sets) are in 4-car sets.

     

    207th Street Yard will likely have about 184 R179s and the rest at East New York Yard. Only 40 sets which will be in 5-car sets will likely see use on the (A). The (J)(Z) will definitely have the best chance of becoming exclusively R160s like the (M) and any spare of the R179 fleet will often sub for ENY's R160 fleet there.

     

    Well as long as i see some new cars on the (A) and (C) for once in my life I'm good.
