  1. Im really sure the line will shut down from 125th to GCT. The MTA has mentioned many times that FASTRACK G/Os will close a portion of the line. The 6th Avenue Fastrack is SOMEWHAT like the Lexington Avenue line, with the Express tracks not connected to the Local track, from 34th to West 4th, and even that the line got shut down. Even if they can work on the upper level, while trains are on the express track, it ill still interfere with work. 110th / 103rd the express tracks are lined up with the Local.

For your 1st phase, it doesn't make much sense, since after like 1AM (when no more (4)s are running express), the express tracks are cleared up. Pretty much work can be done, even after the (4) is done with EXP. But like I said above, I'm sure the line will shut down, requiring people to use MABSTOA bus routes.

it's not likely (but i can be wrong) to happen b/c most of those stations from GCT-125 st are renovated and in good shape like wise in lighting, tiling,ADA and other components. also the tunnels are in good shape and the lighting is fine.
  2. What if the whole QBL (E)(F)(M)(R) is suspended(yes that includes the Archer Avenue/Hillside as well) because of a ruptured sewer pipe and there was a G/O from Woodside (7) to Flushing-Main Street on ALL tracks and the 63rd Street Line is closed because of 2nd Avenue Subway work requiring the WHOLE Line to be closed.

And there was no (J)(Z) from Jamaica Ctr. to Bway Junction due to construction and then from Myrtle to Broad Street

and the (A) was suspended from the Rockaways/Lefferts Bl. to Euclid Ave. making the (A) terminate at Euclid.

also no Myrtle Av (M) service

  3. b4 any1 asks: why did the Broadway Line not get a FASTRACK?

Answer 1: All the station are already renovated and in good shape

Answer 2: almost every weekend theres a G/O

Answer 3: other Line Structure are in good shape from G/Os and also the lighting(CFLs) is at its best.

there you go DO NOT ASK why the Broadway Line did not get a FASTRACK Because that answers it.

  4. NEXT

Work at 7 Av and 53 St disrupts subway service. 7 Av/53 St is closed and impassable, and trains cannot go between 49 St and 57 St on the Broadway Line (assume trains can enter 57 St, but not use the switches south of the station).

simple the (E) would go thru 6th Ave and finish at then hop back on the 8th avenue line 2 W 4th Street and continue normal service..for the disruption at 7th/53rd

then (N) would terminate at 57th and no (Q) service and then the (R) goes via 53rd Street and 6th Ave. and over the Manhattan Bridge and then on its normal route and most likely the (R) and maybe the (M)(orange) will operate over night.

  5. So, the new NICE signs for the N2/N8 that I've seen were on Meacham Ave southbound. I didn't look on the other side.

Northbound along Rockaway Ave, Hendrickson Ave, and N. Fletcher Ave, they simply put an "8" sticker over the "2" on N2.

Eastbound along Dutch Broadway, they put a "2" sticker over the "8", on the N8.

Cost conscious indeed..Stickers for only what's necessary.

did they cover over the (MTA) logo
  6. As part of the ongoing FasTrack project, from April 7th to the 16th, there will be no Manhattan-bound E- or F-line service at Sutphin Blvd (Hillside only), Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd and 75 Av. Manhattan-bound trains will run express between Parsons Blvd or Jamaica-Van Wyck and Forest Hills-71 Av at all times during this service change.

that's not a Fastrack the whole QBL or the Hillside Line would not be in service at all.
  7. The old preprinted MTA signs were also reflective but it has since worn off. (I don't think those formed by number stickers were reflective)

I overlooked it in the original post but the N78 stickers do say "peak hours only". N79-only stops have not had any changes yet.

say when did those preprinted MTA signs go up?(i mean like what year) im curious
  8. Yes its a waste, but can't the (MTA) say something (maybe sue) for their logo still being on the signs or are stickers going to cover that up too? Shows a little messiness, doesn't it?

then again the MTA is still working with Nassau to make the transition go smoothly and the MTA understands that the bus stop signs need to be there due to the transition
