  1. I have to report for both Bus Operator and Conductor tomorrow at the same time. I called the employment center and was told I could do one tomorrow and the other one the next day.
  2. One thing I am happy about is the fact that I don't have to fill out that bloody CPD packet. I am currently a city employee so I don't have to fill one but, I am going to sit down tomorrow and, take my time fill out what they send in the mail.
  3. I got my letter to come in may 23 for pre-employment
  4. The best advice I was ever given is to let the MTA find a problem with you. I friend of mine went down there and told his whole situation for no reason and was placed on hold for something it took him to clear for a w while. Best advice is don't say anything and pass whatever it is that they need you to do. When I did my medical for physical for conductor my heart rate was 99. Doctor put me on hold even though I told him I was nervous I still had to have it cleared with my cardiologist. I went got it cleared but it was too late for me to join a class. I was removed from the list and, had to restore myself. Question, when I get called again would they have on file that I cleared my heart rate if it becomes a problem again.
  5. No, problem. Thanks to the DCAS worker who told me lol. You're in the same boat as me
  6. to restore yourself to the list with DCAS I used certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov In the email list your name, exam name, exam number, exam list number, your social security number and reason why you missed your appointment.
  7. I have email to restore my name with DCAS and it didn't take two months. It was within that week.
  8. the quickest way I reinstated myself was to email my name, list number, exam number, social security and reason why you missed your appointment to certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov When I called the hotline that Sunday I was restored back to the list.
  9. I have reinstated my name in February and haven't heard anything. I would assume they would get the updated list from DCAS this summer.
  10. Would anyone by chance have Ms. Chestnuts email.
  11. I spoke to Ms. Rivera she told me that the they are calling off the promotional list and would return sometime around June or July. This list will expire next year that's it.
  12. restore yourself to the list? You can email certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov its the fastest way to restore your name. In the email include the list number, social security, exam number and the reason why you are restoring. It has worked for me. Maybe this could be pinned so everyone can know for future reference.
  13. yes she is. She's one of the few people that are reliable with the correct info.
  14. You guys have to be patient. I'm on 8094 and, i've been waiting for years. The one thing that I have learned during this process is that the employment unit will say anything to get you off the phone. Trust me I have gotten 1,000 different answers to my questions when I called that I just stopped calling and, just waiting patiently and, stayed out of trouble. For example i was told i wouldn't be called for final processing and sure enough a hour later i got an email to come in. Take everything with a grain of salt and, just stay positive. From my understanding they will be calling off both promotional and open competitive list (8094). So while you still can get your health and everything in order so you'll have no problem getting in. Plus CUNY and SUNY have almost free tuition you can take some classes until your called lol.
  15. You're in the same boat as me. We have to wait for DCAS to send our names back over to Ms. Chesnut. When i spoke to her she said that could be around May or June. Until then all we can do it wait and, stay out of trouble.
  16. nope, just make sure you pay those parking tickets and don't catch any moving violations.
  17. Outstanding certification means that DCAS has sent your name to the MTA to be called. At that point i would keep an eye out on the mail for a pre-employment letter. If your NOT on a outstanding certification that means your name hasn't been reached yet to be sent to the MTA for pre-employment.
  18. Thanks same to you. Red hook I heard isn't as bad as queens. The good thing is we don't have to do anything under the hood like some other states.
  19. my road test is for next Friday. I was scheduled for a February road test but I thought I was going to make a class for conductor but I missed it. I find driving with traffic not so bad. My parking is on point and I call out everything I see. My instructor was very good and showed me tips and tricks to ace the road test. I just have to calm my nerves once the road test starts. I'm doing my road test out in Hicksville Long Island since I heard it isn't a bad road test site compared to the ones in the city especially out in queens. Plus there are tons of videos on you for the pre-trip inspection to use as a study guide.
  20. if you don't show up your name will be removed and you'll have to restore it back. You have 3 chances until the list expires.
  21. cool, thanks for he info. I will call tomorrow.
