Small recap for Manhattanville: They now have acquired the following buses: 3965, 3996, 4571, 4172 and possibly more on the way. Something tells me there are delays in delivering the HEV's.

Considering that Kingsbridge's batch (to my knowledge) hasn't run in over a month, I think we've got some bad teething problems on our hands...

But so as not to seem like a troll or anything, and not sure if it was mentioned.....

The electric order will be increased to 60 buses up from 45. This now allows for Staten Island to get buses which was originally NOT the plan.

The rollout will begin Charleston, East New York, Grand Avenue, and Kingsbridge.

The next order will be for up to 500 buses and the expansion will include 8 depots to start.

Hmmm, I know its "only" 60 buses but I'm feeling a split award here...

  3. There was a solution for the window size already out there and in revenue service before they chose to make the doors 58 inches wide, they simply chose not to do it.

The worst part about the small windows is that it neuters the effect of the (finally) full color destination signs.

Sure. My point is that they knew full service would return, they knew they were receiving the stimulus, and they knew they'd have fewer crews on hand. Why didn't they plan for this and the service impacts that have been the arbitrary result? It's not like we're running a modified pick right now with reduced but consistent frequencies; it's just random delays because they're missing trips. That's just bad planning.

Gosh, its almost like the hiring freeze that everyone said would be a bad idea turned out to be a bad idea...

I'm guessing this is doing work in the express tunnels and on the southbound (D) track between 47-50 and 7th Avenue?

    Do yu know what time?

As others have mentioned before me, it will be a while since it has to travel the system to test clearances first

I am also hearing that they are shooting for the revenue 30 day test to take place next summer.

the dummies at (MTA) and the dummies (riding public) don't understand that the chip shortage is the main reason why these cars are delayed.

also maybe if they had spares for CI's R46's, the (N)(Q)(W) lines wouldn't have such delays

It's funny because absent that, the train has looked ready to go for months now

I have limited knowledge on the technical terminologies of the destination signs, but are these Twinvision?

I never saw them in my area (unless it was one of those "blink and you miss it!") But the image/video below, yes.

The orange signs replaced the worst functioning TwinVisions. This is what a TwinVision looks like. [note the rounder font, particularly on the A and V]

The Bx12 and M15 SBS have gotten progressively worse since their debuts as SBS routes. No one respects the bus lanes, traffic is worse, delays in loading the bus, just revert them back to LTD's at this point

I almost agreed until you mentioned the M15...

All door boarding alone has made a vast improvement in the service as have the on board cameras for bus lane enforcement. The problem is that the lanes are only part time and revert to parking in off-hours and on weekends.

Is the Q32 and B11 regular overnight service or what? They always post so many cancelled Q32 trips. Every single night. It's ridiculous. If their goal is to kill off ridership, they're doing a hell of a job.

From what I've heard (I'll defer to the ops on here), if you have any kind of temperature they won't let you do your route out of an abundance of caution and that's why there's so many missing trips.

My question how long do these paint jobs last? Seems if the buses look cleaner with this new scheme, so it may not be so bad. With the white scheme, dirt shows up very easily.

Darker colors like blue hide dust better than white. It also helps that the stripes are a wrap that can easily be reapplied onto the base when needed.

So question, how many buses does Nova normally produce a day? And how long does it take for them to be prepped for delivery? There’s already like 98 buses up there in Plattsburgh, why is it taking so long to send them down?

Nova has to send the buses to a subcontractor to do the blue and yellow paint. I'll bet that most of those 98 buses are still in their white base layer.

Is there any reason to post when every single LFS enters service? I mean they're all bound to do that I don't see what's the point of all of these posts to state the obvious.

I personally see it as no different than announcing every single delivery in the other thread but I guess that's just my opinion.
