  1. First off of all bad ac happens on any subway car class regardless off age , Ummm u do realize that the R62/As are the most reliable trains that they have in the A division and are trains that rarely break down and in alot of cases perfom better than an R142/A , they are also doing very very well for being almost 30 yrs old on the lines that they run on , if that's not road worthy then i don't know what is
  2. A/C issues happen every now and then on every car , its not Westchester's problem , believe it or not they maintain them very well , just switch cars at the next station...
  3. Believe it or not at the time of their retirement the R40Ms performed much better than R42s , but the went scrap happy and scrapped all of the R40Ms when they shouldn't have.....
  4. Shouldn't be much of a shocker anymore , Its a mentality that it's Corona's issue now why should we maintain the trains that we are loosing its not our problem... their main focus is on maintaining their R62A's and few remaining R142A's...
  5. Believe it or not None of that is true , i have a very good source that works for the and from what iv been told , Westchester Yard prefer the R62As than the R142A's much more just cause its much easier to Inspect , maintain and then put into service. A few pages back it was explained that some railfans made up that Westchester hates changing the rollsigns. As for the R142s its been explained that the only times they have ran on the was back in 2000 when testing and then during weekend G.O's in the Brooklyn Bridge to 125st section . The and are staying with what they have just due to the fact that there isn't enough R62A's to cover service and that they also swap cars at flatbush constantly so the crew there wouldn't wanna have to go back to constantly changing rollsigns when with an R142 just press a button and change the route for the train .
  6. The only times an R142 has been on the was when it split between brooklyn bridge and 125st, and Pelham bay park and 125st during weekend G.Os ... the Brooklyn Bridge section used R142s since it was easier to have the lend a few cars for the G.Os ... and who said that was gonna happen? Its only a swap with the and , no other lines are being touched.
  7. The Remaining R142A's are going to the because Westchester Yard don't want them and don't wanna have to maintain them , so while those go to the , to fill the void on the missing R142A's on the will be R62A's from the , those broadway sets you see on the aren't there because flushing cant send more R62As its to replace the R142A's that have started going to the , and to replace the missing R62As on the will be R62s from the . The reason for those new R188s is because eventually they will be C cars once all the converted R188s are in service.
  8. Westchester Yard Really beat the R142A's up badly... shouldn't be much of a surprise but still good thing those remaining sets after the swaps are going to the
  9. Nope no R142s on the , as for the 76xx R142A's going to the according to my sources (no names to be mentioned ) it's true due to the fact that westchester yard don't want them anymore since they dont want to maintain them anymore and prefer to maintain just the R62As..... as for UES riders who cares what they want they pay 2.50 like everyone else , them complaining won't change the fact that the R62As are staying on the , a train is train , its supposed to get em from point A to Point B period , if they want Ntts take the or if not then take the bus or drive into manhattan. As for Bronx riders , they should start setting Certain R62A's just for Parkchester and for Pelham Bay Pk to avoid the Confusion.
  10. Sad to say but Westchester Yard Aren't cleaning or maintaining them really , they infact don't even care about the R142A's or what happens to them since they know it wont be their problem , it will be Flushing's and whatever R142A's remain will be Jeromes problem . Westchester yard are keeping their focus on maintaining their R62As... remember the R62As have to be clean at all times since it's not a New Tech on Lexington (no need to explain further lol ) also cause the is the line that most people use. Corona might give them a small cleaning but that's about it , wouldn't be anything big.
  11. Nope its not equipped to maintain Ntts and wont be till those R62As retire , i think u misread , the remaining R142A's from the are going to the for extra service . To replace those R142A's from the that are going to the will be R62As from the , Now to fill the void of the missing R62As on the will be R62s from the .
  12. From what iv been told Westchester yard don't want to maintain the R142As anymore that will stay , so they will give their remaining R142As to the for extra service , in return it will get R62As from the to replace the R142As its giving up and as for the to replace the R62As it will give to the will get R62s from , seams like they are starting to do that already.
  13. The R68A for the always leaves 207st at 6:53 Pm and does one round trip and then goes back to the yard... as for the R32 i caught it yesterday at around 7:15 pm at 42st going to 207st and that motorman was having fun on that express track lol.
  14. I caught an R68A at 9;00 at W4 going back to 207st and Rode it till 168st... it arrived likely at 9:35ish so it should be back in the yard right now
  15. i misread then accidently .... whats the next converted set for service?
  16. I saw 1831-1835 and as well 1934 coming out of Westchester Yard i didn't catch the rest cause my R62A was going fast.. I was shocked to see that , cause i thought the single sets would go either to the or the but seems like Westchester is keeping them ..
  17. I saw it coupled to 1831-1835 earlier today I was kinda shocked to see that on the
  18. R62As 1681-1690 are now on the as well as is single car 1934 and of course they already have strip maps on them,
  19. Nope i saw 2 full 10 car sets of R62As on the without LED lights on them and they were Westchester Sets because of the purple stickers.... and the easist reason on why to remove them is because Westchester yards crew don't like using them themselves , there are times where a is express and theyll leave the leds local, the whole trip .. and On top of that riders know what cars are local or express. We have to remember the reason those lights got installed in the first place is because flushing riders have trouble knowing the difference between a local or express train , riders do know the difference unless their a tourist and they can listen to announcements like everyone else if needed,
  20. Seems like Westchester Yard are offically REMOVING their Led lights from their R62As , i was on set 2351-2355 from the and while at 103st and 116st I saw 2 sets of R62As couldnt get their car numbers but .they did not have Led Lights anymore at all ..... noticed they were Westchester sets because their yard stickers were still purple...
  21. Yea the R32s have AC but in the summers it doesn't work on the cause its fully underground.... but AC works really good on the and but because its outside most of the time.
  22. The Reason on Changing the Yard stickers from Yellow to Purple was because Corona's color is purple , it was just to know what R62As was assigned to Corona Yard. The Pre NTT Assignment on R62As on the was 1651-1929 with R29s and R36s
  23. Yea just borrowed until Corona can send more R62As to Westchester... and they still put their strip maps on them so that passengers don't complain about where are the maps at. Iv heard from a few sources not yet confirmed when the swaps are done , Westchester and 240st will swap R62As so that Westchester yard can have R62As 1651-2000 and 240st yard 2001-2475 . Also it seems that Westchester will go back to their older yellow yard stickers cause iv started see them peel the purple stickers already especially on 1791-1795. I spotted 2141-2145 on the and its now full width cab.
  24. Not trying to be rude man, but i know why the R62As are coming back to the , long story short incase u didn't know R62As ran on the when they first came in 1987-2002 . They went to Flushing in 2002 because back then the R142As couldn't fit in the steinway tubes. Now that the tubes are fixed the R188 order was ordered wich consists of 380 R142As to be converted with CBTC and 123 new built cars. Of course since all of the converted R142As are coming from the the R62As from the (formally from the ) are being sent back to the to replace the converted cars. The Easiest way to tell an R62A from flushing is the purple stickers on the bottom and the Led Lights. Also Flushing's R62As were 1651-2155 with exception of 1826-1830,1841-1900 wich are on the . Then the R62As on the are 1826-1830,1841-1900, 2156-2475 and on the bottom they have Red stickers and don't use Led lights either.
  25. I spotted R62As 2351-2355 on the borrowed from the and they already have strip maps so seams like theyll be on the for a while...
